Dream Vacation...Or Is It?

Chapter 1

Hey guys, I decided to start writing this new book since I have writers block with my other one.

Summer Vacation. Late nights, sleeping till noon, hanging with friends, there's nothing better. Unless you get caught in our situation. What seemed like a dream vacation ended up like....well lets not spoil it just yet. So lets go back a few days and let me explain to you what happened.

It was the week after summer started. I had just graduated...8th grade that is. My parents had gotten me 3 tickets to a luxury cruise as a graduation present. And, I got to bring any 2 friends with. It was an obvious choice, and I tell you who later too.

I had packed the night before since it was an 7 hour trip and we had to get up kind of early to get to the docks. I got up and took one of the quickest showers ever. Well, for me that is. I had just finished brushing my teeth when something tapped on my window. Yes, window, not door, window. My friends are weird like that.

I opened the blinds on my window and sunlight rushed in. Even though it was only about 6 in the morning, it was super sunny. I slid open the window and they yelled, "Hurry up Mags!"

Yup, that's me, Maggie Thompson. And the two nut jobs yelling at me were my best friends, Cody and Jacob Moore. They're mirror twins, which is where twins are the mirror image of each other. They both are about 5'8 and I'm 5'6. Cody and Jacob both have shaggy brownish-blond hair and sea green eyes. Cody has specks of gold in his right eye and Jacob in his left. Sadly, I'm the only person who can tell them apart.

"We still have 2 hours till we have to leave!" I called back, grabbing my hair brush and brushing my hair.

"Not if we want to get breakfast!" Cody called back.

"Alright, give me 10 minutes!" I said before closing my window. I blow dried my hair, and did a small snake braid to pin back. Then I grabbed my suit cases and the tickets before running downstairs."Bye mom, bye dad! See you in a few weeks!" I yelled through the house as I opened the door. 

"That was 12 minutes," Jacob said looking up from his watch.

"Oh shut up, Jacob,"I said a smile on my face.

"It was actually 12 and a half," Cody said.

"You guys are such nerds," I rolled my eyes.

"Says the queen of the nerds herself," Jacob said, a smirk on his face.

"Whatever. So where are we going for breakfast?" I asked dragging my things over to the car.

"Where do you think?" Cody asked opening the trunk.

"IHOP!" We all screamed at the same time.We were all laughing by the time we were in the car. We really are a crazy group of freaks. It took about 10 minutes to get to IHOP and I guess Mrs. Moore made reservations since they already had a table ready for us.

We each got the same thing, as always. Today we got chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and chocolate milk. Every time we came we would draw straws to see who got to choose. Well, except for today. I automatically got to choose since after all, I was the one who  them come on the cruise.

[Well its not like you have any other friends]

Sorry, that was Jacob. He really doesn't not when to shut up. 

Anyways, we quickly ate our food and Cody and Jacob payed for it. I could tell we were all eager to get on the road. We had an hour drive to the airport. Then it was a 5 hour flight to southern Flordia. Finally we had a 20 minute drive to the docks. 

On the drive to the airport we were singing along to the radio like idiots. Im pretty sure we were annoying Mrs. Moore to death, but she was used to this madness. She and my mom drove us all over the place, and like I had said before, we're insane.

Mrs. Moore checked us in at the airport and took us to security. There we said our good-byes before she left us. At the little metal detector gate thingy, Jacob got into this huge argument with the guy there. He refused to take off the cross necklace his older brother gave him. You see, 2 years ago, their brother Aaron disappeared. He hasn't been found yet. Ever since then, Jacobs never taken off that necklace.

I finally convince him to take it off after like 20 minutes. Its a good thing we were early, otherwise I think we would have missed out flight. We were one of the first people on the plane since we were flying alone. There were little TVs on the headrests of our chairs, so during the whole flight we watched the Big Bang Theory.

It seemed like for ever before we reached the Florida. Luckily, we got to be the first ones off the plane. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get our things. Then we took a cab to the docks.
