Sandy

He was doing his best to keep the nightmares at bay. But it was difficult and exhausting, there were just so many. What he needed was sleep...

He looked to the moon. Then every so slowly, his eyes closed, and he drifted off to the land of dreams.

The unfortunate part of dreaming when it came to the Sandman, is he never dreamt just his own dreams. There were always others.

Which is why he was not particularly shocked when he saw the dreams of Ana. That was, until he remembered she was missing.

He flew in closer to look at her dreams.

They were dark and frightening, and always showed her alone. And then there were the people he could only assume were her parents.

He noticed something out of the corner of his mind's eye. A slight shimmering. He drifted closer.

They were Ana and Elsa's parents' dreams.

But weren't they dead?

***

He was startled awake. He looked up to the moon.

And said his first words in the millions of years he had been alive.

"That is what happened to them"
