He pounded at the metal, each swing a promise.
To protect the child of earth.
To protect his fellow Guardians.
To save Katherine, his first, and best, friend.
He would protect them. He would save them. He would do whatever it took to save his family.
He held up the sword. He shut out the world as he concentrated on the magic that twisted in the air around him. He felt it seep into the metal.
He gave it a swing, and grinned as he saw the sparks fly from the blade.
Yes, he would protect them. No matter the costs.
He rested the blade on a cloth covered table, among the rows of other finished weapons.
