Chapter 2

After about 5 minutes of cooling off I walked back out to see everyone sitting on the couch and Mario pacing back and forth

"Let me guess, Angelica." I claimed as everyone looked at me

Since Cesar wants to play games I could play games too. I walked towards everyone and took a seat on Jamal's lap

"Ok." Jamal replies and I looked at Cesar to see him staring at me and Jamal, with anger in his eyes but not in his face

"Look at you. On the verge of high school. All the excitement. All the firsts. First parties, first football games, first love." Mario weeped. Is he seriously crying over a unpaid whore? Grow some damn balls man!. "Want me to drop some knowledge?." He asked

"Not at all." I replied

"High school it's the foundation for the rest of your life. Any false starts could lead to your own dead end. Now sure, you guys are smart, setting curves and all that, but you still have to go hard!  cause there's only one chance at a first impression. So do you want to sit on the sidelines or do you want to play in the game?."

Alright now Mario is just scaring the shit out of me

"I just don't want to die." Jamal replied

"Is Mario high?."

"Probably."

"Yes, he's high on life and memories and some seriously good indo." Mario chuckled. "What I was saying is work hard, put your heart out there, even if it is broken by some bitch you've known since Mr. Estrada's seventh grade social studies." What the hell did Mario take at that party. "Anyways uh what I was saying, and you may want to write this down. Don't go into high school without backup. You need each other to survive. Got it?." We all nodded. "I'm going to college, mofos! Now, kiss my class ring." He says putting his fist with his class ring on it in front of my face

"Move it or lose it." I said and he went to ruby. Ruby seems hesitant but kisses his ring

Once he left we all started talking about him

"Damn, I almost forgot. One last thing: don't bone Monse or Lani." Mario says and we all started burst out laughing

"Who would want to do that?."

"As if."

Ten weeks later

I walked into my house and it was very quiet. I just got back from sleep away camp I was a CIT (Consuler In Training) and some of the kids were pain in the asses, but I'm just glad to be home

I've missed everyone. Including Cesar, I don't like to hold grudge especially if you are my friend, but I know better to not let a boy play me

"Mami, Papi, Abulieta, Ruben." I called out  no one answered, I walked into Mario's room to see. Ruby, Jamal, and Monse talking. "Did the party start without me." I said. I was automatically pulled into a bear hug by everyone

I looked at Monse and she looked different. "Monse, you got your braces off and you grew boobs." I said pretending to be shocked

"Lani, dear Hermana(Sister) can you move that side table." Ruby asked and I scoffed

Wow miss you too little bro

"And why not Cesar come and do it." I suggested sitting on my unmade mattress

"Then we'll be waiting a really long time." Jamal says

What does he mean by that? I tilt my head a little looking at ruby who looks uncomfortable
