Chapter 5

“Oh fuck...”

I nodded sitting next to her “Well he kissed me first but I kissed back...”

Jenna sighed “Now what?”

I sighed “Avoid Kellin?”

She look sympathetic “Sadly that might be the best option...”

I nodded “Yup.”

A couple hours later my mind was going crazy as I got ready to perform. I was surprised Kellin stood backstage with Vic and Jenna acting like nothing happened. I sighed trying not to focus on him. I waited until it was my turn to go on stage before I faked a smiled walking out to act like nothing was wrong.

We performed two songs before suddenly I felt the need to change a song. I turned to my guitarist whispering something to him. He smiled nodded before letting everyone else.

I turned to the crowd “So we’re gonna change up the set a bit. You guys wanna hear something different?”

The crowded cheered in response.

I smiled “Well this is If Only!”

I sang my heart out knowing it related to everything I was feeling. The song is about wishing you were the one with the guy. You see him and his girl together and keep thinking if only it was you. It summed up how I wish I was the one with Kellin.

We finished up the rest of our set as planned.

I yelled into the mic “Thank you! We’re Hello Harmony! See ya next time!”

I walked off stage feeling great. After performing I always feel great.

Jenna walked over “That was awesome! If Only is my favorite song of your’s.”

I smiled “Thanks. My bassist Mike and I wrote it.”

Vic walked over “Well it is awesome.”

Kellin just awkwardly stood there. Suddenly I knew we had to work it all out.

I turned to Jenna “Hey do you think I could have a few minutes to talk with Kellin?”

She sighed nodding “Vic, why don’t we go get a snack?”

Vic sighed nodding and followed Jenna.

I turned to Kellin “Do you think we could go somewhere to talk?”

Kellin sighed “Yeah... How about my bus?”

I nodded following him back to his bus. Once we got there we both awkwardly sat on the couch.

I took a deep breath “You kissed me...”

He chuckled slightly “Well that’s one way to start the conversation...”

I tried not to laugh “Well I’m not sure how else to start it.”

He shrugged.

I sighed “Kellin, this is serious... You kissed me earlier.”

He nodded “Yes I did.”

“Why?”

“I’m trying to figure that out myself...”

“I’ll admit that it was a great kiss. I mean I thought it was great...”

He chuckled “Are you worried that I didn’t like it?”

I shrugged looking down slightly. Suddenly I felt stupid.

Kellin lifted my chin “I love it... which is why I’m trying to figure this all out.”

I sighed “Why is this all so complicated?”

He pecked my lips “Don’t worry. I’ll figure this all out.”

I sighed “Please try to figure it out soon.”

He leaned his forehead against mine “I will... I really like you Lace.”

“I like you too...”
