Salaah (Prayer) is one of the fundamental pillar of Islam.
It was the first act of worship that Allah made obligatory and it is the differentiator between Islam and Kufr (Sahih Muslim). It's obligation was revealed directly to the Prophet ﷺ during his Ascension to the heaven (Meraj).
Salaah is the first action that a believer will be questioned about on the Day of Judgement as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
" The first act that the slave will be accountable for on the Day of Judgement will be prayer, If it is good, then the rest of his acts will be good. And if it is deficient, then the rest of his actions will be deficient". (At Tabarani)
