IT has been a week after their first date at the hospital's cafe and it has been a good week of more little dates everywhere around town. Taehyung insisting on calling their meet-ups 'dates' is why Jungkook started calling them that, too.
They went to the park a lot. Jungkook loves it there and Taehyung soon grows fond of it because of that. They had a picnic, they people-watched together, they had ice cream and played in the playground—they had fun. Actual, real fun that both Jungkook and Taehyung haven't had in what felt like forever for Jungkook and actually forever for Taehyung.
Jungkook didn't know why he agreed on spending time with Taehyung at first, but he had gathered his thoughts the night he went back from the little Q&A with Taehyung. The time he spent with Taehyung was. . . magical. Captivating, dreamy, and unbelievable. Who would've thought an irrelevant, sad little kid could meet someone so relevant. The kid who dreamt of death finally met death—in a totally unexpected way.
They say everything in nature is about balance and that everything in the universe always balances itself. The universe shows no mercy and will always—always—finds balance and declares just. Jungkook has always hated the universe for that. Jungkook hated how the universe itself gets to decide what's fair and what's unfair because he always feels wronged by it. And right now, Jungkook definitely feels wronged by something.
The brunet is standing with his head hung low and hands clutching a brown envelope. Before him stands the man he likes to call Humpty Dumpty.
"Just take the money and go." The big man says, throwing the cloth that was on his shoulder to the counter.
"I can't do that. I know my pay is bigger than this." Jungkook says, gripping the envelope tightly to stop himself from. . crying? Exploding? He's feeling a mix of a lot of things right now. "I need money to eat and pay my rent, please understand."
"No."
Jungkook gulps. "Please—"
"I said no." The man snaps once more before heading towards the door, dismissing the poor boy. But Jungkook isn't done.
"This is not fair!" The brunet cries out. He's frustrated and angry and starving—all the things that make you not you. Jungkook knows he can't back down now that he's gone as far as yelling at his boss. "I-I worked harder than anyone else here, I—"
The man turns around, hands resting on his hips while his eyes go devilishly angry. "Are you saying you work harder than me? Is that it?"
"No! That's not what I—"
"You think you can tell me how I should treat my employees? Well, you're wrong, kid. Without me, you'll starve to death. Without me, you won't have any place to call home. Think about that." He says, stepping closer and closer with every word.
