NOTHING in this world can ever convince Taehyung that cotton candy is not the best food in the world.
Humming along a melody in his head, Taehyung walks down the almost empty road with a huge, pink cotton candy in hand. The streetlights help the half-moon illuminate the street. No one is out tonight.
Because no one is out, the sound of the streetlights flickering seems to resemble an alarm. Constant and continuant. The moon is not visible tonight, hidden in the embracing darkness of the black sky. Nevertheless, it's beautiful outside. It would've been perfect if Jungkook is here to enjoy this with him.
Jeon Jungkook is a whole other definition of perfect, for Taehyung that is. Something about Jungkook just keeps him going. He's different. It's like a silly crush some hormonal teenager has towards their classmate. It's the giddy feeling of excitement when he meets Jungkook that never fails to make Taehyung weak. He's weak for Jungkook. He's whipped, he can dare to say. He could almost see Jungkook's face, all happy and cheery, in front of him. Laughing at whatever Taehyung says.
Oh, just how he loves Jungkook so much.
He thought he could never feel this way towards anyone. Hell, he thought he could never feel this feeling of love at all. Is it love that he feels butterflies everytime Jungkook is near? Is it love that he yearns for company when Jungkook is away? Is it love that he sees and think of Jungkook everywhere, whatever he does?
It probably is.
Which is why when Taehyung sees Jungkook in the other end of the bridge, Taehyung couldn't believe his eyes. This time it isn't butterflies he feels, it's nowhere near that. Because there, Jungkook is holding tight to the metal railings as his heel clung desperately to the very edge of the bridge. He's facing the river below. Taehyung wants to scream and shout and run and hug the human yet here he is, frozen in place.
Suddenly, Taehyung's throat feels dry and his heart clenches so bad it hurts. He gulps rigidly as he drops his cotton candy to the ground.
Without much thought, Taehyung jumps over the railings, straight into the body of water below. Stupid, he knows. But he needed to act on impulse. He can no longer bring Jungkook back from the dead as his little pup is gone.
It's cold but nothing Taehyung can't handle. He's the angel of death for fuck's sake.
Jungkook hears a splash. The water that was once calm and inviting is now messy and roaring with every wave. He panics, of course, pulling out his phone with his hurried and trembling hands to call the emergency hotline. He laughs bitterly as he climbs over the fence to get back on the bridge. Funny how he was seconds away from being in that person's shoes. His mind that was clouded with the determination to end his life is now cleared and Jungkook is totally focused on saving that person.
But something halts his brain to a stop.
What if they want to die? They'll probably be mad at me after I save them, right? Jungkook thinks to himself as he remembers his own experience. "Just like what Taehyung did to me-"
