Another not so excruciating pain, I guess I am good, after a few minutes it's time for us to go, I can finally go home. I walk from college to the Mall, I enjoy the not so hot sun day, as I walk semi-straight on the sidewalk. I see cars pass by, some really slow, maybe trying to catch a glimpse of me, others way too fast. Some of the drivers are naturally slow pokes and others are just old pervs or hormonal teens.
*rolls eyes*
As I walk, I am walking with my earbuds listening to "Dear No One"-Tori Kelly.
I enjoyed it, it gave me time for me to have some alone time, sometimes it's all I needed, and other times, I couldn't stand it.
Within minutes I was at the entrance, walk up to my mom's local, and as usually she didn't noticed me cause she was organizing the merchandise behind the counter.
I love seeing her working, she is always smiling, and you could see that she really loved her job.
"Hey gorgeous!"-I said in a friendly tone
"Hey chulin..."-she said as she got up, and when she noticed it was me, she said;
"Ah Dios, verdad que soy yo la te lleva a casa"-as she laughed a bit.
"¿Te falta mucho o me doy una vuelta a lo que sales?"- I asked with a gentle smile in my face.
"I still have an hour to go, you can go ahead and darte una vuelta, pero no te pierdas"-she said smiling looking away
"Kk, can I have the keys to leave my stuff at the car?"-I asked extending my hand
"Mucho cuidado"-she said in a motherly tone.
"Si"- I said as I walked away.
I open the back of the car, put my bookbag inside. The only things I took where my purse, in which I stored inside a book. I closed the door and made sure the car was locked, as soon as I hit the lock button.
With purse in hand, I headed inside the Mall, gave my mom the car keys, and took a stroll. I walked by some stores, and entered in a few to see closer some pieces of clothing that caught my attention. I enjoyed doing this, even if I didn't purchased anything in particular. Window shopping you might say.
After I did my first stroll around the whole Mall, which btw it's not that big, I headed back to my mom's workplace. From afar I noticed she was talking with this guy, that seemed like my age. As I got there, I took off, one of my earbuds and said;
"Hey mom"- with a gently smile and as leaned in and rested my arms at the counter, the guy was doing the same.
"Hey sweetie"- she said, and then kinda whispered, "I need to go to the ladies!"
"Go, I'll keep an eye of everything"- I suggested
She second guessed it, but went ahead. The guy was still there with a smile, looking at the fragrances. I without thinking twice said with a kind tone;
"She'll be back in a minute or two, and she'll find just what you are looking for"
He looked at me, and came a bit closer, and told me;
"Thanks, btw I am your mom's friend"-his tone was friendly and he had a really cute smile.
All I could say was;
"Oh okay"
I didn't know how to answer in any other way, as I was still listening to music, right now it was playing, Sparks Fly by Hey Violet.
"Yeah, I visit her from time to time, when I get the chance"-he continued
"Oh okay, well that's nice"- I said honestly
"Yeah,"- he looked my face, and asked, "you must be Gabriela, right?"
I don't know why, but my name sounded so nice in his lips, and I felt as if I could trust him, by the way he seemed to be and act. He extended his hand, and I shaked it, as I said;
"Yes, and your name is? Sammy?"- I asked unsure as I recognized that this might be the guy my mother, might've been talking about.
He chuckled and I examined him from top to bottom.
He was definitely more taller than me, had a nice body, and a charming smile. I stopped looking as his lips parted to say;
"Your mom calls me like that, it's Xavy"- he leaned in the counter and looked at me, as I got a bit red.
"Oh, I am sorry"- I apologized a bit embarrassed.
"Nah, it's okay"- he said with a reassuring smile.
"To think that my mom was right about him", I thought to myself, "he truly seemed like a nice guy"
"Well your mom, wasn't exaggerating when she said you both looked alike"- he said with a bit of a surprised look
"Yeah, people sometimes think we are sisters"- I said as I laughed a bit
"And you are definitely as cute as your mom described"-he said in a charming tone, and I looked a bit away, I felt like I was about to blush, or did it already happened?
What I was sure of, was I had a smile plastered in my face, and then said;
"Oh wow, I didn't expected that, but thank you"-being completely honest as I still smiling
"No need to thank me, I am just saying the truth"-he said looking at me with his brown eyes.
Before I could continue the conversation, my mom arrived and said;
"I see you are both talking"-with an devilish smile, assuming what was happening.
And before I could say anything, he spoke;
"Yeah, your daughter seems like a nice girl"- he looked at me with a smile.
"Yeah, he also seems like a nice guy"- I responded looking at him a bit shyly.
"Well, linda, recoge que nos vamos"-my mom said as her coworker arrived.
"Ya tengo todo"- I answered, looking at her
"Intercambien números para que sigan hablando"- she said as she looked at him.
Inside I was dying, like "Mom, why you do this!"
And then, he said;
"Si claro, ¿te parece?"- he said to me as he took out his phone.
"Okay"-I said with a gentle smile, but I felt a bit nervous.
We exchanged numbers and said our goodbye as he headed somewhere else, and we headed to the parking lot. I don't exactly why, but I kinda wanted to see him again.
Someday, as I remember his smile.
And then I woke up, it was just a dream.
