The school day was over pretty quickly and Meri ran out of the building chasing after the other three girls ahead of her. She grabbed Cinna's belt and dragged her back, releasing an inhuman screech from her mouth. She immediately went into a sulk and B burst out laughing. The wind was icy cold so all four girls wore hats and scarves up to their noses.
Speed walking down the pavement, the girls concentrated on getting home as soon as possible. They had only recently been trusted to walk home but they had to be home by a certain time or they would be banned from their hour of free time for a week. In this hour they were given trackers and were allowed to roam the city and do as they wished. They usually stuck together and went to the park down the road. If they had money they may go to the little bakery or convenience store. If they did, they had to tell Dr Handson exactly what they ate. They were on strict diets to keep them in 'prime shape'.
They ran through the door and tossed their bags on the white leather couch. Dr Handson stood before them with a pocket watch in his hand. He smiled kindly at them and clapped his hands.
"Ten minutes before curfew, well-done girls!" His dark green eyes twinkled with delight. He then gestured for the girls to follow him up to the third floor.
The door to the third floor was always locked unless Dr Handson was there to unlock it. It was his lab of sorts. He had an examination table and all the normal doctor stuff you found when you went to an actual doctor, along with extra stuff like microscopes and sterilizers. He did their daily checkups and said they all seemed in good shape. He gave them all two pound and their trackers and said they had an hour to do what they wanted. They quickly got changed and ran out the door and down the street. The road they lived on was always pretty quiet. Very few cars came down there and people never really walked down the sidewalk. The four girls sat on the pavement and decided it was time for a game of Truth or Dare.
Meri turned to Sugar and grinned, "Truth or Dare?"
"Truth..." When Meri asked, both were as bad as each other.
"Kiss marry kill, me B and Cinna."
"For goodness sake! Any answer to this is weird!! Urm.. kiss you, marry B and kill Cinna." She looked over at Cinnamon who looked super offended. "I'm sorry, I had no choice!!"
"It's fine, I wanna die anyway." She rolled her eyes and huffed, "Alright ask me. The answer is dare, by the way, I'm not a wuss."
"Okayyy... go and sit in the bin across the road for five minutes." Sugar giggled.
"I was expecting something a bit more daring but sure, ok." Cinna trotted across the road and plopped herself in the bin, her eyes the only thing showing. "I HATE YOU! IT STINKS!" She cried.
After her five minutes, she pulled herself out and doused herself in body spray. As she went running across the road back to her friends she didn't spot the black car speeding down the road towards her. Before she could react, something dragged her out fo the way. The horn blared and Cinna wrapped her arms around her head. After a few seconds, she straightened up and turned to thank who she assumed was B. When she turned around she was looking into the blue eyes of someone who was definitely not Biscuit.
Are you kidding me right now, I think would rather have been hit by the car and died than be in this cliche moment.
The eyes belonged to Spice. He smirked and a full-on cackle came from Sugar behind him. "Cinnamon!! Look! It's your knight in shining armour." She grabbed her sides and almost toppled over. Her pale face went a cute shade of pink and Biscuit watched her with growing concern.
"Shut... up..." Cinna growled through gritted teeth.
"How sweet, he saved your life. You basically owe him everything you own." Meringue purred and stepped closer. "Two pounds." She giggled and put her arm on Cinna's shoulders, which she brushed off with disgust.
"I owe him nothing, he didn't have to. I already told you I wanted to die, driver would've been doing me a favour." Cinna crossed her arms and sulked.
"You're welcome, sweet cheeks." Spice rolled his eyes and smirked again. "Shouldn't you be getting home? It's almost been an hour..."
B looked at him in confusion, "How did-"
"Magic..." And with that the boy twirled and headed back down the street from whence he'd came.
The girls ran back to the house just in time. They ate supper in silence and then went to their rooms. They were locked in for the night and as Cinna got into her pyjamas, something fell from her black jeans. She grabbed the paper that had a number on it. Smooth. She left it on her bedside table and climbed into bed, wondering if it would've been better to be hit or not.
