Carl

I woke up to an empty space next to me. Maybe what I'd done was too much and that's why she'd left. You randomly went down on her while in another relationship, of course it was too much, Carl.

My feelings for Dom had been strong, but not like the ones I still had for Cailee. Dom being weird all of a sudden wasn't helping the situation. I was confused and conflicted. I shook off those thoughts and dragged myself out of bed. After a quick shower, I changed into some clothes and cracked the door to Debbie's room.

"You decent?" I asked looking down at my feet.

"Yeah, what do you want?" Debbie replied and I looked up at her.

"Have you seen Cailee this morning?"

"No, why?" she answered, putting on socks.

"She stayed over last night, but she was gone when I woke up," Debbie shrugged her shoulders and went downstairs. I followed behind her, into the kitchen. I grabbed a bowl and fixed myself cereal. "Why are you in such a hurry?"

"I'm not, just waiting on my nanny," she replied, sitting down at the table. I sat next to Debbie with my breakfast and Fiona basically flew downstairs with Liam trailing behind her. They were talking but I was distracted and couldn't stop thinking about Cailee.

"This'll have to do," I said to myself after I was dressed

"This'll have to do," I said to myself after I was dressed. I'd only been home a little over an hour and a half, but I'd sorted through my thoughts and feelings a bit. I still had feelings for Carl, but I wasn't going to be a home wrecker. I decided to stop with the flirting and sexual encounters— we'd just be friends. Feelings would make it difficult, but I was gonna stick to it.

My aunt was still asleep so I ate a blueberry muffin and walked back to the Gallagher house. I decided to go through the back door. I opened it to find Fiona and Liam leaving, Carl and Debbie sitting at the table, and a lady walking into the kitchen with Franny.

"What's going on in here?" I asked.

Carl's head shot over to me and he grinned, "Where'd you go?" Sigh. It was definitely gonna be difficult to see that smile and not want to kiss him. Shake it off.

"Went home to change clothes," I replied while closing the door and taking a seat in front of Carl. Fiona said something to the lady, Jolayemi, that pissed Debbie off. Jolayemi handed Franny to Debbie and they started talking about something money related.

"When did Debbie get a nanny?" I asked Carl.

"Couple days ago," he said and took a bite of his cereal. I heard the door close and open twice and soon a big police officer walked in.
