*Almost 3 weeks later*

Toothless tapped Heather gently on the shoulder, then pointed to some berries. "I can eat? Dragons can.' Heather studied the berries for a moment before nodding. "Knock yourself out." Toothless looked confused and she added, "It means have fun." Toothless nodded and started eating.

"Hey Hiccup, do you know when this is going to stop? I'm almost used to them being switched." Snotlout asked Hiccup as he touched down, just back from taking Dagur on a flight around the island. Hiccup ran a hand through his hair and replied, "If I'm right, they'll switch back tomorrow, I'm just not sure what time."

Riders and dragons went to bed peacefully that night, unaware of the dangers to come.

A hand was clamped over Toothless's mouth, and the dragon struggled wildly against the shadowy figure standing over him. But there was something in the hand, a cloth which stank of chemicals, and the dragon in a man's body was captured without making a sound. Toothless was carried down past the watchtowers, where the twins were sleeping, down to a waiting dragon. The captor flies away, off to a little ship beyond sight of Dragon's Edge.

Upon waking and finding Toothless gone, the riders scoured the island but didn't find the switched up dragon. "Maybe he's just on a walk. I showed him what kind of berries are okay for humans yesterday, so he could have just gone to find more." Heather suggested. Astrid shook her head, kneeling by the edge of the sea. "I wish that was the case, but look here." There were marks in the sand, deep and large. "These are dragon prints, but they don't belong to any of the dragon species on this island, I would guess maybe Singetail. Also, this dragon was tied down. Toothless has been kidnapped."

Hiccup leaned back against the table with his thinking face on, then stated. "We need to fan out on our dragons- the kidnappers are probably long gone by now, but maybe we can find their island or ship where they must be holding Toothless. I think these might be the same people that tried to set the edge on fire a couple weeks back, so look out for their dragons. As the riders shot into the sky, Hiccup thought: were the kidnappers after Toothless, or Dagur?

Toothless shifted uncomfortably, nervous with the strange people he had woken up with. He wanted to know where Hiccup was, but the captors had bound his mouth shut, and he wasn't sure how to ask anyway. There were three people- two women and a man. One of the women suddenly tore the strip of cloth out of her captive's mouth, startling the dragon.

"Dagur the Deranged- I never thought it would be so easy to catch you. And yet, here we are, with you as my helpless prisoner." She came closer, and Toothless growled, making her pause. "Oh dear, I thought you were going to be all civilized. Don't you recognize your old friend?" She traced a finger down Toothless's cheek, and he bit her as hard as he could.
