Heather gave a frustrated cry and kept going. It felt like hours passed in the minutes that followed. Suddenly Dagur made a choking noise, then started coughing, water running from his nose and mouth. He twisted to the side and threw up an unpleasant mix of stomach acid and water.
Heather held her brother gently, overjoyed that he was alive. After a few moments Dagur opened his eyes and looked around, then he smiled. "I'm glad to be human again, but somehow I imagined the return going differently." The redhead laughed but stopped suddenly, grimacing and holding his ribs. Cringing, Heather explains. "Sorry, I think I broke some of your ribs. You were gone Dagur- I had to resuscitate you." Dagur hugged her, moving gingerly. "Thanks sis."
Toothless had woken a few minutes ago, and now he put his head on Dagur's legs, making a low rumbling noise. Dagur grinned and put a hand on Toothless's head. "Being a dragon was awesome buddy. I hope being human wasn't too bad, besides the almost drowning part." Toothless chuffed and nudged Dagur playfully, making all of the riders laugh.
Suddenly, Hiccup remembered the woman Astrid had grabbed off of the boat, and he asked her what happened. "I dropped her on that little island they were anchored by. It's covered in changewings." Hiccup shook his head, grinning.
With Dagur saved, and with man and dragon back in their rightful places, the dragon riders headed home to Dragon's Edge to await their next adventure.
*You didn't think I would actually kill off Dagur, did you? XD I'm a sucker for happy endings. Hope you liked this! Also, I am a lifeguard and I know cpr, I tried to make it accurate without being boringly over-descriptive.*
