The last week of August my family had packed up and went to diagon alley. My mother and father got a separate room than me. They also had decided that they would be staying for a week after I left for Hogwarts. When I walked into the room dragging my trunk behind me trying to keep it from dragging me around. The room was quite large with a big bed in dark colours. I left my trunk by the dresser and decided to look around the room. I sat on the edge of the bed and laid back looking at the ceiling. My mother had finally seemed to accept some of the fact that I would be going to Hogwarts.
Soon enough I heard a knock on my door and I called out a soft, "Come in!"
My mother and father walked into the room, "We are going to go get your robes today love!" My mother walked over and took my hand pulling me up to a standing position, "Do you still have the money I gave you?"
I nodded and went to my trunk flipping the latch and opened it up taking out the thirty galleons that my mother had given me for my birthday.
We made our way out of the leaky cauldron and onto the streets of diagon alley. My mother looked over at me and smiled, "We will go get your wand first! Oh, isn't this exciting?!"
I did what I figured she would like. I gave her a bright smile and nodded, "Yes, I'm so excited!"
She smiled at me and continued to walk with my father. We made our way slowly to the wand shop called Olivander's. My father walked beside me with a smile on his face, "It will be okay Fin."
I looked down as we walked into the large shop. It was large but it was also very crowded with so many wands. They lined all of the walls and shelves. An older man stood in the middle of the shop looking throughout the wands he had set out. He looked up with a smile, "Hello! Come in, Come in!" He grinned and looked up at my father, "Ah, are we getting her first wand?"
"Yes, we are getting her ready to go to Hogwarts," he smiled and I could almost feel my mother tense up behind us. She put on her fake smile again.
Mr. Olivander grabbed a wand box and opened it picking the wand up delicately smiling, "I have a good feeling about this one," He handed me a wand that was quite small but he smiled a bit, "Give it a wave."
When I waved the wand a glass candle holder burst and I let out a loud yelp, "Oh my god!"
Olivander began to laugh but why? I just broke something of his. Why would he even be remotely happy about that? He gave me a smile, "Ah, well that is not the one. Here, lets try this, Rowan wood with a core of Pheonix Feather. 13 inches."
I bit my lip and looked at him, "Okay." I waved the wand and a light emerged from the tip my mother had a bright smile on her face and I felt extremely proud for some reason. I really liked this wand and I was hoping that maybe this was mine.
"Ah! Yes! Very good! That's it! That is your wand!" He smiled and looked at me, "This wand has chosen you young lady, so it is yours to keep now."
I smiled softly at him and gave him a small thank you before paying him the 7 galleons I owed him. He took it and dropped it in the register before telling us goodbye as we left. My mother looked at me. She had softened up and was walking next to me with her arm around my shoulder. She smiled, "Ah, you have your wand now. We can go get your robes in a bit, " she said softly looking around, "how about we get some lunch?"

Friday, September 1st 1989. [3 days later]
When I awoke that morning my mother was walking around my room making sure that I had left nothing behind in my trunk. She then walked over to me and patted my side gently, "It is time to get up Fin."
I sat up and rubbed my eyes as she summoned my dress and oxfords from my trunk laying them out on the bed for me to put on. I swung my legs out from the bed and stood up. I looked around and walked to my clothing to quickly slip it on. My curly hair sat in a mess down my back as my mother began to work on brushing it out enough to get it to let the curls loosen up. She soon got sick of it and pulled out her wand casting a simple spell to make my hair fall into soft curls that shaped around my face cleanly.
"Ha! Finally! It is time!" She smiled and hugged me tightly, "Meet us downstairs in five minutes with your trunk darling!"
I smiled softly with a nod as she left the room. I walked over to my trunk to check once again and make sure that I had everything put together correctly and I was not forgetting anything, as that would be completely tragic, especially in my first year.
Five minutes later I was in front of the leaky cauldron with my trunk holding onto my fathers hand as he apparated us to Kings Cross station at Platform 9 3/4. There were so many children here most of them seeming a bit younger as they were still clinging onto their parents for dear life. I couldn't help but laugh a bit at how childish they were being.
My mother was holding onto my hand tightly to keep me close as she walked me to an enterance on the train. She smiled at me and looked over to my father, "We will see you at Christmas darling." she said softly and hugged me tightly holding me closely.
When she finally pulled away I made sure to hug my father. He hugged me tight with a smile, "Good luck Fin,"
When my mother was finally ready I walked onto the train and made my way to find an empty compartment so I could sit by myself. I pushed my trunk into the overhead and took a seat looking out the window to where my parents were standing and my mother waved to me. She was no longer feigning her smile but was just looking at me longingly as if she wanted me to get off the train and aparate to Beauxbatons. It was too late. The train was pulling off finally after the last few children got on.
About two minutes passed before a pair of ginger haired boys walked past my compartment only to return and open the door a bit. One of them spoke softly, "Do you mind if we sit here? Everywhere else is packed."
I shook my head and watched as the identical twins walked in and sat across from me after putting their trunks onto the racks, "I'm George Weasley," The first one said.
"And I am Fred, " He smiled softly looking me up and down as if to analyze me.
"I'm Finley, Finley Farley."
"It's a pleasure to meet you Fin," Fred smiled softly and stuck his hand out for me to shake it. I looked at his hand a bit skeptical at first before I took it and shook it carefully. George did the same and it got a bit quiet for a while.
George looked over at me, "What house do you think you are going to get into?"
I looked a bit confused and tilted my head, "House?"
Fred cut George off before he could speak, "You know, like Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw?"
Now I faintly knew what they were talking about what they were talking about from what my father had told me and a book that I had read in a book that I borrowed from Flourish and Blotts bookstore in Diagon alley.
"Oh, well my father was in Gryffindor and my mother went to Beauxbatons. A school north of France." I looked down a bit and shrugged, "I don't really know the difference between them yet."
"Well,'' George said softly.
Fred continued, "We are Weasleys so we will get Gryffindor. Our entire family got Gryffindor."
I nodded a bit and shrugged, "It doesn't matter to me."
"Well, we hope you get Gryffindor so we can spend more time with you."
"Me too."
