You promised,
Promised so many things.
Saying we can do this and that.
I ask the next day,
Can we go now?
He's drunk as usual.
No we are going to stay here today.
But you promised...
We will do it tomorrow.
But did we?
Next day we went to his friends.
Got drunk,
Told me to go play with his kids.
They where older so they wanted nothing to do with me.
I had to play with the animals.
Nothing else to do.
Finally he was ready to leave.
I only saw him on weekends.
Had to go home on Sundays.
But let me tell you this,
He never held up to his promises.
Gave me so much hope.
But let me down each time.
Promised this and that.
Promised he would change.
He never did.
