The Broken Children

Chapter 2

Naruto's POV
As I was asleep, I felt that I wasn't on my bed. Rather, I was in a couch in a small room where there was a huge stack of paper. I lifted my head and lazily laid it back down. I rubbed my head and felt my ears-

"WAIT!!! I HAVE EARS!?!" I yelled as I was startled by the fact that there were two golden ears on my head.

"Of course you have ears. Who wouldn't? " Said a familiar voice. This voice belonged to the only man who cared about me.

"J-Jiji? What am I doing in your apartment? " I asked.

"It's not my apartment. This is the Hokage's office. And since I'm Hokage, I have to stay here and do my paper work. Anyways, of course you have ears. Who doesn't? " Asked Jiji.

I suddenly remembered about my crisis.

"Ugh! No, I mean I have fox ears. " I said as my tail swished behind me.-

"AND I HAVE A FOX TAIL! WHAT'S GOING ON?! " I asked.

"Well... It seems there is no choice but to tell you. When you were running away from the villagers, you came to a dead end. Once they surrounded you, you got shocked and paralyzed, then seemed to pass out. While you were unconscious, these ears and tail formed. " Said Jiji.

I seemed shocked by this information and asked another question.

"How and why did they grow on me? " I asked while touching the golden ears and bushy tail.

"Well, there is something I need to tell you Naruto.  You might want to sit up because your mind is going to rip with the information I'm about to give you. " Said Jiji.

"Ok" I said sitting up."Now will you tell me?"

"Naruto... Look... I can't put this in an easy way but... You want to know, don't you? " Said Jiji.

"Yes, I want to know why I grew golden fox ears and a tail. " I said.

"Well... Here goes nothing. " Jiji exhaled. "About 3 years ago, there was a beast that had nine tails. This beast was named the Nine Tailed Fox Demon, because it was attacking our village in a gruesome way. The Fourth Hokage, who I will later explain, used a sealing jutsu to seal it inside someone. When he did this you were a baby. He sealed it away in a person-" I interrupted Jiji.

"I was me, wasn't it? " I said.

After a long and awkward pause, Jiji finally gave in and answered the question.

"N-Naruto." Said Jiji, his head lowering. "Y-Yes. The Fourth Hokage sealed it inside of you. But he didn't do it to any stranger. Here Naruto, " Said Jiji as he opened a drawer and took two scrolls out "I want you to unseal them and read what's inside. You have the decision of whether or not this is true." Jiji finished saying.

"Umm... How... Do I unseal them? " I asked.

"Ohh... I forgot to tell you. Bite the upper inside of your thumb and draw a straight line of the blood through the seal, which would be this one. "He pointed to the seal which read Nimikaze. " You do this to the other one as well... " Said Jiji as I took the scroll.

"Alright! " I said, biting my thumb and drawing the line. With this, the seal disappeared and the only thing left to do was unravel the scroll. I looked at the message that was read inside and looked at it over and over again. I couldn't believe it.

"I'm the son of the Fourth Hokage?! " I yelled, surprised, even though I already figured it out,  before I put my hands over my mouth.

"You don't need to do that. I put seals that prevent us from being heard. " Said Jiji, a wave of relief washing over me.

"Well, I believe this one. Now let's see what the other one says. " I said as I took the other scroll.

"Be careful Naruto. That one will shock you." Said Jiji as I drew the line of blood.

Before I knew it I was in an empty sewer. I walked down to where there seemed to be gates.

"So, you're finally here. " Boomed a voice so loud the water shook.

"Umm... Excuse me. Who are you and where am I? " I asked.

"I am Kurama, the Nine Tailed Fox and we are inside your-" I interrupted Kurama.

"Even though we just met, can I ask you a question? " I slightly blushed to what I just said.

"Go on boy. I'm listening. " Said Kurama, once again making ripples in the water.

"Umm... Umm... C-Can w-we be f-friends? " I mumbled, looking down and playing with my thumbs. When I looked up I noticed that Kurama had been taken aback.

"A-Are you sure kit? I am the nine tailed fox spirit and-" I interrupted him again.

"Yes! Yes, I am sure I want to be friends. I want someone to be my friend other than Jiji. Can we be friends? " I asked again, yet with a slight more confidence than before.

"S-Sure." Said Kurama.

"Yay! I made a new friend. Can I ask you another question? " I asked in an excited tone.

"Go ahead. " Kurama said.

"Can I call you Kura instead of Kurama? The name seems much shorter and I like it. " I said giving away a slight blush.

"You can call me whatever you want. Now,  since I am your friend I'll give you something amazing, how is that? " Asked Kura.

"Ohhh. Do you know how to do something amazing? " I asked.

"Just watch. " Said Kura as he made and held up a scroll, towards me. "If you wish to see me out of this cage, you can sign here with blood. You are the first one I let sign my summoning contract. " Finished Kura as I got the summoning contract.

"Ok. Where do I put the contract down so it doesn't get wet." I said as I saw that there was  6 inches of water on my feet.

"Just bite your thumb and sing the contract while holding it up. " Said Kura as he was,  too, reminded of the water.

"Hai. " I said as I help up the sign and bit my finger, already knowing how to write my name. When I finished signing my name. I felt something fuzzy on my shoulder. I looked and saw there was a miniature Nine Tailed Fox. He looked so cute that I couldn't resist a screech of glee.

"Boy you are going to make my ears bleed. " Kura joked as I stopped screeching.

"Sorry. You're just so adorable."I finished saying.

"Sure I am. "Grumbled Kura.

And with that last sentence, I was soon in the Hokages office again.

" Jiji! How do you do the summoning jutsu?" I asked as Jiji stared at me in amazement.

Jiji hesitated.

"I will show you tomorrow. You need to go back to the orphanage. " Jiji said as I lowered my head in sadness.

"I don't want to go back there. " I said as I was reminded of how I was treated.

"Why not? " Asked Jiji with curiosity.

"Because the woman at the orphanage treats me bad. She makes me do all the work and beats me up if I don't do it right. " I said to Jiji, slight shock reaching his face.

"Does this happen to everyone? " Asked Jiji.

"No. She only treats me bad. I always feel unwanted. Can I sleep here again? " I asked Jiji.

"Just for tonight. Tomorrow you will be heading to a new home. " Said Jiji after a long consideration.

"Really? " My eyes lit up with excitement "Where? Where? "I asked.

"You will find out tomorrow. Now, get some sleep. " Said Jiji.

"Hai." I said and as soon as my head hit the couch arm, I didn't realize how tired I was and quickly dozed off to sleep, my fox ears twitching and my tail wrapping itself around me.
