Grantaire's P.O.V.
“Courfeyrac, you take the watch, they won’t attack until it’s light.” Enjolras assigned. “Everybody stay awake. We must be ready for the final fight. Let no one sleep tonight.” He sighed and walked over to Marius who was still putting things on the barricade. “Marius,” Marius turned to Enjolras. “Rest.” He shook his head but Enjolras put his hand on his shoulder and he nodded.
“Drink with me.” Everyone turned their heads towards Feuilly who held a very big wine bottle. “To days gone by. Sing with me, the songs we knew.” He handed it to Jehan Prouvaire.
“Here’s to pretty girls who went to our heads.” He took a sip and handed it to Joly.
“Here’s to witty girls who went to our beds.” Everyone chuckled and they handed it around.
“Here’s to them and here’s to you!” Everyone laughed.
“Drink with me to days gone by.” I interrupted and everyone turned to me, most glancing at Enjolras thinking he was going to stop me. “Can it be you fear to die?” I felt tears threatening my eyes. “Will the world remember you..when you fall?” I sighed. “Could it be your death means nothing at all…” I saw Enjolras step down and Combeferre stepped in front of him thinking Enjolras was going to shout at me, he tried handing the bottle to Enjolras but he pushed the bottle and Combeferre away.
“Is your life just one more lie?” I growled towards Enjolras before falling to my knees. He stepped in front of me and kneeled in front of me. I scratched the top of my head, he was going to shout at me or tell me to leave.
“Grantaire?” He asked and I took a deep breath before getting up higher on my knees and hugging him. I knew that he was going to kill for doing so but I needed to. He didn’t do anything while I clung to him like a baby to his mother.
It felt like an eternity while he kneeled there but in reality it was seven seconds. I felt Enjolras’ arms wrap around me and he held me in a tight embrace. “Your life means something.” He whispered.
“But-“ He cut me off by putting his hand on the back of my head and shushing me. “Where’s your bottle?” He asked while we stayed hugging, I was surprised we stayed there for so long.
I put my hand on his shoulder and pushed him off. We broke apart but he slid his hand down to my shoulder. “Here.” I handed him the bottle and he smiled at me. “I’m proud of you.” He moved his hand back up to the back of my head and I smiled towards the ground.
He pulled my head forward by the back of my neck and pressed our foreheads together. He ran his hands against my hair once before patting my shoulder once and standing up with my bottle. He stood there for a second before walking off leaving me sitting there just looking at the ground no longer smiling.
I was about to go follow Enjolras when Marius grabbed my arm and made me face him. “Do I care if I should die now she goes across the sea?” He asked with such sadness on his face.
That triggered something in me and I frowned, shook my head, and yanked my hand away. I stood up and walked in the direction Enjolras walked to.
I turned to Enjolras who looked back at me before getting caught up in something else.
All I needed to hear from him was said in that embrace. The only thing stopping me from being completely is that tomorrow is the final battle.
The battle to finish all this madness. As much as I’d love to believe we’d win I don’t have as much faith in mine or Enjolras’ survival. The bottle of wine was finally handed to me and I took a swig.

Sorry it's short, I tried to add as much passion in it. I'm horrible at that kind of stuff. If you want me to do Enjolras' point of view of this comment it to me!
