,,Babe, I know your answer will probably be no, but tonight is the gig... If you want to come-?'' Josh asked while he stopped his car in front of my house.

,,I don't.'' I gave him a quick answer, and he didn't mind. He's usually the pushy one, so was he happy I said no?

We said our goodbyes and he left his seat to ran around the vehicle and open a car door for me. Always such a gentleman. I hugged him, and he gave me a soft peck on the forehead. We haven't properly kissed yet cause Josh knows I don't want to rush things. We've been together over 6 months now, and it's killing me to know how much he's giving up to make things work between us. But I'm still having my doubts. I just don't feel attracted to him, don't get me wrong, he's caring, and smart, and really handsome, but he's not the guy for me. I have a perfect chance to be the luckiest girl in the world, but my damn brain is obsessed with this doucehebag Aaron.  And I know it's wrong to use Josh this way, and I really hoped that with time, I would fall for him, but that didn't happen. I haven't found the courage to end things, nor I know the way to do it, cause hurting him is the last thing I want to do.

I sat on my bed, homework still undone, clothes still unchanged, my thoughts focused only on the gig. I had a perfect chance to finally see Aaron play, perfect chance to spend time with Josh, perfect chance to visit his fathers' club in a more proper outfit, and perfect chance to get away from four walls and enjoy the more mature company.

,,Mom?'' I went to the living room where my mother was reading.

,,Yes sweety?'' She set the book aside and gave me a warm smile.

,,Aren't you working this evening?'' I was curious.

,,Nightshift, so I still have few free hours.'' She told. ,,We can have some mother-daughter time if you want to? Play some scrabble eh?''

,,Oh mama, that would be fun!'' I was now doubting my question again. ,,But, I was wondering, can I go on a late date again? With Josh.''

,,Oh honey, I don't think-'' She looked skeptical.

,,My favorite band is performing in Josh's' fathers' club.'' I beg.

,,You are too young for-''

,,They have their new jazz album out, and I even have a chance to meet the lead singer, she could give me some advice on my voice.'' I tried not to lie, but she didn't give in, so that's what I came up with. Jazz people tend to be really cultured, she would never let me if I'd tell that I will go see crazy teenage metalcore band.

,,Fine, darling. But be home before midnight. I trust you.'' She sighed, and I knew that this vocal coaching part would make mom melt. She always wondered why did I stop singing.

I hugged her really tightly, trying to make up for misusing her trust, and then ran back to my room. Threw a quick glance at my phone to know the time and figured  I have only two hours before the gig will start.  Jumped under the shower, shaved my legs, dried and straightened my long brown hair and put on some foundation and mascara. I have to dress mature to impress this time! The only hour left, it was time to pick the outfit. I don't often ware classy dresses or dresses at all, but thankfully I do have many.

After all the effort, I still didn't find the right dress I would feel comfortable in, so I decided to wear a short white sweater with a leather skirt, fishnet tights, and dr martens. Looked pretty decent, but still not old enough to legally visit the club.

I had 40 minutes to get to the states most populous city, Charlotte, where the club was, from my hometown Gastonia. Distance is almost 20 miles so, I hope there's no traffic, and no queue in front of the club.
