Chapter 10

I wait for Brian near the school doors after school. Today was a very special day. it was the day Brian was taking me out for a date. it is our first official date besides going to get chips or watching movies in his car on his phone, my mom didn't say yes until now. it is also the first date I have ever been on. he is taking me to a frozen yogurt, I love frozen yogurt! I smooth down my Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirt, and straighten out my jean shorts. I want this day to be perfect, it has to be.

I feel breath on the back of my neck, Brian. I spin around and give him a huge hug.

" Brian " I said

" Are you ready? " he said

I nodded and we walked over to his car. his car was red and looked pretty sweet, definitely Brian-worthy. I smiled and hopped in. He hopped in after me and started the car, the engine gave a burst of effort and we were off.

We walked into the froyo place hand in hand. I looked around, the place was super modern with brightly colored chairs, white tables and walls, there were a bunch of froyo machines lined up on the wall each flavor had its own picture, and there even was a mixing flavored option. there was also a toppings bar that looked like it had all the toppings in the world. we each grabbed a cup and started filling it with froyo.

Their were so many different flavors and toppings to choose from and I thought I was gonna explode. in the end I ended up getting strawberry short cake, cake batter, cookies and creme, and chocolate, with cookie dough, tapioca balls, marshmallows, and gummy worms. I don't know exactly what Brian had, but it looked delicious all the same. we paid and sat down at the table with Carolina blue chairs.

" Mmm.... this is so good " I said.

" Mmm hmm " he mumbled, mouth full of froyo.

Then I stuck a huge mouthful of froyo in my mouth. I could hardly breath so I sounded like a dying walrus, breeeaaath, chew, chew, breeeeaaaath.

Brian started laughing, and realizing how ridiculous I looked I started laughing too. I laughed so hard froyo came out of my nose. At that moment we both looked at each other, I started to think the worst, but Brian started laughing historically and fell out of his chair.

After froyo we got into his car to drive home, we were gonna stay longer and walk around but my mom texted we to come home. When we got to my house he walked me up to my door.

" Bye Olivia " he said.

" Bye " I replied.

" Umm...." he said

Before I had a chance to say what he leaned in and kissed me. he pulled away as if asking if it was okay, so I kissed him back and he put his arms around me and held me there. well, until my mom screamed from inside to come in, so we both smiled and parted ways.
