Baileys POV
I rushed through the hallways as quick as I could trying to go to my first class of the day, before anyone spotted me. Before Ethan spotted me anyway.
"This damn leg brace" I thought.
"Bailey!" I heard someone shout.
At that very moment I sprinted down the hallway, not caring who I pushed and shoved out the way. Just as I thought I was safe, a hand wrapped around my waist and another wrapped around my mouth. I was shoved into the janitors closet.
"Bailey I'm sorry." Ethan said.
I said nothing. All I could do was think.
"I don't want an entertaining girl, I want you"
I crossed my arms.
"Come on, Bailey."
I needed to say something that would hurt his feelings, I needed to find his weakness and his strength. So far I had nothing, I couldn't read Ethan like a book, I knew he could read me pretty easily, considering all those times I didn't have to say anything, he knew.
"Please talk to me" he pleaded.
"I've been 'muted' for 17 years, I'm sure 17 more wouldn't hurt" I scoffed
He snorted out a laugh. "I see you got jokes"
I rolled my eyes and opens the door but Ethan jumped in front of me and closed it.
"Bailey please, let me explain" he frowned, even with a frown on his face in this dimmed lighting he was handsome, it made me annoyed that he could be so perfect.
"10 minutes" I said.
"Yeah I admit, when I first met you I just wanted you to talk, but after a while when I was starting to get to know you, you made me realize that I don't need a girl to talk to all the time. You made me realize that I just need someone to comfort me when I'm sad. The first time I saw you cry broke my heart, you showed me that not just people who can talk but people who can't have feelings too. I-I love you Bailey" he said shyly.
That's when I realized it...I was his weakness.
"I love-"
Before I could finish my sentence, his lips brushed against mine, making me want more. Our lips locked and moved perfectly together. My hands reached up to his dark brown locks. His lips then traveled down to my neck. I pushed him away and looked him dead in the eyes.
"This doesn't mean your off the hook" I said opening the door and walking out.
I was last in the class, soon as the door shut everyone's eyes were on me.
"So you care to tell us why your late?" Mr. parks snapped.
I shook my head, and took the empty seat in the back of the classroom, my eyes were on the board but my mind was somewhere else.
--
As I was gathering my things for my next class I couldn't help but notice Grayson and Tessa talking, he laughed at something she said and then she pointed at me. I quickly looked away and focused my attention on my books.
"Hey Bailey" Grayson smirked, closing my locker. "What do you say if I walked you to class." He said taking my books from my hands.
I snatched my book back, and scrunched my nose together.
"Look at Bailey being so...tough." He bit his lips. "Ya know...Ethan said you could talk, is that true?" He said, leaning closer to my face.
I rolled my eyes and walked away. Ethan had to finish up work for a different class, so that left me walking alone in the hallways. I felt so vulnerable without him. You know that feeling when your naked and someone walks in? That's how I feel right now.
I was so wrapped up in my thoughts that I bumped into Grayson, I sighed. When was he going to leave me alone?!
"Leave Ethan alone. He doesn't want you" he smiled. "I'm surprised he's not with you right now. For all you know, he could be smushed up against some chicks face."
I shook my head. He wouldn't do that to me.
"Check it out for yourself" he pointed at Tessa and Ethan.
They were in the middle of the hallway, kissing. I gasped dropping all my books after I had just picked them up.
Ethan pulled away from Tessa and looked at me in horror.
"B-Bailey, it's not what it looks like" he held his hands up.
I shook my head, not believing what I was seeing. Tears were flowing down my face rapidly. Everything seemed like a blur.
I soon started to hyperventilate, and that's when I saw nothing but darkness.
Ethan's POV
As I was walking through the hallway to get to Bailey, Tessa grabbed my face and started to kiss me. I tried to push her away but it was to late. Bailey had already spotted me.
I finally pushed away and saw Bailey shaking her head and tears running down her cheeks. "B-bailey, it's not what it looks like" I held up my hands.
Her eyes closed and then she fell on the floor. I ran over to her and started to shake her. "Bailey, baby please wake up. Wake up bailey, wake up" I cried.
"Someone call 9-1-1!!" I shouted. "Hurry!!" I said pumping Baileys chest.
Grayson's POV
"Grayson, it's okay" Tessa laughed. "She always does that, all she wants is attention," she rolled her eyes.
"Tessa I didn't want anyone to get hurt! Bailey is unconscious and not responding to any of the paramedics!" I shouted, startling Tessa a little.
"Grayson it's okay, she just had a stupid panic attack." She scoffed.
I brushed my fingers through my hair and bit my lip nervously looking at Baileys still body on the floor.
I ran over to her body before Tessa could stop me. "Bailey? It's Grayson. If you can hear me, move your thumb" I said, cautiously looking at both hands.
From the other side of the hallway I could hear Ethan's deep sobs.
"What have I done?" I thought.
