Clarity met Kammie at the door, both their favorite part of the day, and jumped on her sister who was surprised to see her as a human for the first time in a forever. Kammie squeezed her favorite and only younger sibling tight against her, crushing the air out of both of them, and causing them to fall to a giggling pile on the floor as Kammie kicked the door shut to block out her unseen watcher.

"Why do you have to go to school for so long?" whined Clarity, "couldn't you just be home schooled like me?" Kammie just shook her head and chuckled at her younger sister who still had yet understand the concept of 'society'. "You know that this is my last year in high school," Kammie began, "and that you'll have to go to a public high school as well once you're older and learn to accept being in human form around others." Clarity slumped against her sister and sighed, once again seeing that her older sister was speaking the truth, rather she wanted to accept it or not, it was just the way things were.

The wolf laws stated that mewlings must be home schooled to learn control, manners, and respect until they reached maturity and qualified for high school. They had to be introduced to society and make friends that would later become their pack, and as well, be acquainted with their arranged mate.

Through this process they were also seen by touring humans and thought to just be high school student, and unsuspected as wolves, and if see by a human in wolf form or transforming, they were to be exiled, and subjected to abuse from other wolves and possible death from humans or, worst of all, creature hunters.

Creature hunters were the most feared in wolf and all mythical creature societies. They killed creatures just for being alive and existing, as if they were abominations to the Earth, and deserved to die. They  hunted down every creature till near extinction, then the hunter race began dying out, as if being hunted itself

Hunters were established the same time the wolf laws were, back in the oldest records of time and space, as if they had been created at the same moment on opposite sides of the Earth, bound to find each other eventually and eliminate the other before they are eliminated. Kill or be killed was the most basic of the rules.

Wolves are taught the laws as soon as they are born and transform into their human form for the first time. When they do so, they are stuck in their human child form until the age of 10, when they begin to learn to control their changes. Most children prefer their wolf form to their child form, as they find they have more strength in their wolf bones compared to their fragile, delicate human bones.

Kammie and Clarity bounded into the ballroom, their favorite room in the house, and gazed at all the decorations that were placed in preparation for Kammie's ball.
