"Ayato-kun... S- Stop.." I could hear the poor girl's voice squirm as she begged for the merciless vampire to stop stealing blood from her. But by heart, I was glad that she suffered. Ever since Komori Yui had stepped into this mansion, the torture over me had lessened a lot. If she ever were to disappear, or the boys should ever turn their attention to me, I would be doomed. I definitely don't want that to happen, which is why I was grateful to her.

Selfish beings, aren't we?

I tried to avert my attention and walked away. I had much more work to do, rather than being grateful towards Yui, or pitying her.

As I did my chores, I thought about each day of my life after becoming the prisoner of the Sakamaki household. Komori Yui is the bride, and no other human being should have known anything about the messed up past of this family. Unfortunately, I found out. So to prevent the word from spreading everywhere, the head of the family, Sakamaki Reiji made me their prisoner. It's been 3 years, I've gotten used to all the pain. But when Yui made it less, I was truly happy.

Although all of them never hurt me. One of the vampires had never bothered to waste some of his attention on me, let alone crave my blood. It's like I didn't exist in his world, which sometimes would make me happy, sometimes sad. Did I not matter at all? Or was it that he wanted to lessen the pain for me?

Bittersweetness was laced around the voice inside my head as I recalled his name.

And among all of them, he was the only one to pique my interest.

After my work ended, I was heading to my room. It took 3 years for Reiji to provide me an actual room, huh. On the way, I heard some noises from the kitchen. As any normal person would do, I should've went in and asked the person who caused it about what was wrong. But I didn't, because when I peeked in, I saw Subaru. He looked like he could kill anyone right now, so I decided to pretend this never happened and walked away.

Well, at least I tried.

"Hey, get back here," His husky voice rang through the area, and I immediately made for the run. I started running as fast as I could. And as bad as my luck is, I accidentally crossed my room so that I couldn't hide there. I looked back for once to see that Subaru was chasing me. It literally made my heart jump with fear. He's never been like this before. He was catching up with me, so I decided to change route. I ran straight out of the mansion and into the garden.
