"Remember to make lots of friends, okay?" I said to the little girl in front of me. She was the cutest child I had ever seen, and I don't know what I would do without her.

"Okay mommy!" She answered cheerfully. Right now, she was in her school uniform and sitting at the breakfast table. I was feeding her the breakfast she always enjoyed, avocado on toast. It was my personal favorite too; I guess she was a lot like me.

She did have a lot of features like me, but her eyes, those pretty eyes were like the man that betrayed us.

Forest green, twinkling eyes.

I mentally sighed as she ate up the last part of her meal. I cleaned the dishes while she brought her schoolbag and after a few minutes, we left home.

It was the start of a new year. We just moved to this place, and today it was my five year old daughter, Julie's first day at her new school. We had constantly moved for the last 2 years and this year, my parents didn't allow anymore. They forbade me to move again so I was preparing to get settled here.

After about 15 minutes of walking, we reached the place. The school was a huge 'L' shaped building with a relatively big playground in front. This was one of the most popular kindergartens in town so it was nothing unexpected. We stepped inside; I could feel Julie's excitement through her small hand that held onto my own.

We walked to the principal's office. Throughout our small journey, both of us gazed at the environment. The floors were marbled and light green paint decorated the walls of the corridors. However, both of us noticed that the colors changed from room to room. The glances we stole at the classes told us that the walls were painted red, green, yellow and other bright colors. Children were roaming around here and there but their discipline was always present. It already felt like I had chosen the perfect place for my child.

"Good morning, sir. May we come in?" I spoke as we both stood in front of the principal's office.

"Ah, Mrs. [Surname], good morning. I've been waiting. Please come in," He stood up and greeted the both of us. We thanked him and sat in front of him, I helped with Julie's schoolbag.

We had our small talk and finally Julie's class teacher came to take her to class. I greeted her, handing Julie over to her.
