I woke up with the sound of rain. Small water droplets hit the glass of my window, making a pleasant sound. 'Finally,' I thought to myself.

My eyes flicked over to the clock on my bedside table. It was 7 o'clock, so I realized that I could no longer sleep.

After washing up and taking breakfast, I made some coffee for myself. Blowing on the hot beverage, I stood in front of my window. I looked at the garden outside. The rain painted the flowers with the color of beauty. My eyes slowly found the picture of my younger sister that hung on the wall beside the window. A bitter smile made its way to my face.

My little sister had passed away from cancer about a year ago. I moved out of the house and started living elsewhere soon later. I still remember how her short, dark hair would flow in the wind, how her pretty eyes would sparkle with happiness. Her laughter, her cute way of talking, everything about her haunted my mind. All those memories made my eyes well up with tears, making my vision blurry.

It's unfair that such a beautiful flower was plucked away from Earth's garden so soon.

The coffee's sweet aroma snapped me out of my thoughts. I ran my free hand through my hair, brushing it away. Wiping my tears, I took a look at the view outside again. It was amusing how a raindrop broke into so many smaller particles when it hit the glass.

Even with so much pain inside my heart, I couldn't help but smile to myself.

It's a beautiful day.
