I slow my strides, we had ran 2 miles in half an hour. That's not my reason for stopping. A large building loomed overhead, torches lining a neat path to it. Me and my sisters follow the path and look at the guard.
"State your business child" The man asked, voice full of authority.
"I have none" I reply coolly. The guard was unfazed.
"A runaway?" He asked, no curiosity in his voice.
"Not the way I think about but sure" I said.
"You may enter" The guard replied, moving aside. He watched us as we entered the camp. I took a mental note.
We look around in stifled awe, it looked like a army based camp, but I easily knew that it was something other than military or boot camp stuff. I look at another man who neared us. Given how his stance was and how the people that he passed were, he was the head of this place.
"You three here to train?" The man asks, we nod silently.
"Then go to a cabin and suit up. These cabins arn't divided by gender by the way."
Without word we just go to our cabin, I looked around. A bunk bed in two corners, leaving some space left for decoration. Teki and Doku pick the same bunk, Teki at top, Doku at bottom. I simply picked the bottom of the other bunk. Reason for bottom is because the top is better lit.
Three hours later I slightly tug my furred hood up more, shifting to the darkest place. If you hadn't noticed yet, i'm trying to stay in cold and dark areas, even the slightly warm and lit places made feel extreme discomfort.
When i hear incoming footsteps i look up, just to see a familiar face. I stand up to greet her as she speaks, "Uhm.. Hi"
"Hello" I reply.
A loud siren rang out through the camp. Our training has began.
