Chapter 27

"Ready?" Matthew said while he opened the door.

"Yes," I said smiling while walking through the door.

We arrived in the theater and sat in the very back so no one can see us. During the commercials me and Matthew began throwing popcorn at each other.

Then the lights lit down all the way and the movie began. It showed the sky full of stars and that reminded me of me and Matthew's first date. Our anniversary is tomorrow, Friday. I sighed lightly and scooted closer to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. it felt nice to have him back.

"8 days later Augustus has died." It showed Hazel crying on her bed. I was already in tears because of the scene with the pre-funeral and look over my shoulder to see Matt on the verge of crying.

I lightly scooted up more and whispered in his ear,"Just let it out." Matthew let one tear fall down his check and pouted his lip while watching the movie. I sat back down and began watching again.

"Okay Hazel Grace?"

"Okay."

I was now sobbing in Matts shoulders. That ending just really hit me and I think it hit Matt too.

We were the last ones in the theater and we lifted our heads up. Matt's eyes were red and so were mine.

"Did you like the movie?"

"No, Kai I hated it."

I lightly laughed and stood up,"How are we gonna get out without being seen?"

Matthew put on his hoodie and sunglasses,"I'm covered."

"Me?"

"Here," he gave me a gray beanie and a pair of shades. I raised an eyebrow up at him,"What?"

"Why do you have this?"

"I'm always prepared."

I chuckled and put them one. We raced out of the theaters and into the car we rented.

(Btw if you guys were wondering they use 2 suites and their connected thats why their hotel room is hella big.)

When we got in the hotel room we sat on the couch. His arm was around my waist and my head was on his chest.

Nash walked in the room and grabbed a slushy from the fridge,"Hey how was the movie?"

"How'd you know we went to the movie?"

"Matt. i see your tweets too."

"Well, the movie was amazing, but sad."

"Yah its all over my feed," he walked into his bedroom and that just left me and matt.

We were still playing on our phones till Matt spoke up,"Kailani?"

"Yah..?"

"Will you go out with me tomorrow?"

"I don't know.." I said smiling.

Matthew look down with sadness in his eyes," I never said I said no," I said while using my finger to lift his chin up.

He smiled,"Th-"

I cut him of by pressing my lips against his, it felt so long and I missed it. He wrapped his arms around my waist while mine were around his neck. "I love you." he mumbled not breaking the kiss,"I love you too."

Maybe things we're working out after all.
