Before I start I just want to say that I don't own the rights to any of the pictures I use in this story, and I'm not editing/checking this so there will probably be a few typos. This is because TaranMatharu who is a great author inspired me after giving a talk at my school and if you haven't yet you should DEFINITELY check out his summoner series which is one of my favourite book series(es?) Ever.

Blood ran down the steps. The sound of metal on metal clanging could be heard from miles away. All along the wall, soldiers were panicking and fighting each other instead of the true enemy, the one that surged along the wall and made great slaughter. Commander Genji of the fifth watchtower drew his two katana and decapitated a warrior with apparent ease. The beacon on the top of his watchtower was lit, but he knew that no help was coming. He rallied his men, but less than half of them came at his call - the rest had fled. He ordered his men into defensive positions around the watchtower, their last stand a courageous but ultimately futile gesture. As his men fell one by one, his katana were a flash as he sliced the arms of an opponent and parried blows from two others. He stabbed one, his katana piercing the shield and going through the wood to disembowel him. As he moved to strike the last man down, he was swarmed by a horde of them. He was forced back to the end of his watchtower, slaughtering them, but for every opponent he killed another two rose to take their place. A hulking figure was all of a sudden upon him, swinging a huge poleaxe which Genji was only just able to duck underneath, the top hairs on his head trimmed by the lightning fast blow. He let loose with his own thunderstorm of sword strikes, drawing blood but unable to do any real damage because of the man's amazingly fast reactions. Just as Genji was about to make a deep cut in his opponent, another man cut at his face. He jerked his head back, but his cheek was still cut lightly. Although the cut was not serious, it disoriented him enough for the huge man to hit him in the temple with the handle of his poleaxe. Genji fell backwards, over the knee high wall behind him and off the watchtower headfirst. The world was a blur of colours to him, until his head hit the dirt and his mind stopped.

Hope you liked this first bit! I will try to write every day for as it is Easter holiday/spring break. It when school starts again in a couple of weeks I will probably only be able to update once a week😅.
