Btw sorry for not updating yesterday. I probably won't update much for next 6 days as I'm going on holiday :/Genji groaned. His bed was extremely soft, the quilt impossibly so. But for some reason, his back ached horribly and his head felt like it was going to split open at the temples. He looked up and saw a figure slumped over a chair. It was dark and he couldn't see who it was, so Genji turned on a lamp by his bed. He was extremely tense. The last thing he remembered was being stabbed through the chest. He was sure that he should be in an orc encampment, or at least a prison cell in the wall. Technically, he thought, if his memory served him right, he should be lying dead in a jungle clearing. And if he hadn't died, why were the sheets in the bed so soft? Why would they treat prisoners so nicely? All of this flew through his mind as he pulled the switch to ignite the candle lamp.
The sudden brightness blinded him, so he heard rather than saw the door open and close. When his eyes adjusted, he saw a face he would recognise anywhere "Isabelle!" (A/N for people who know me I told you it would be random) Genji's recognising the signature smirk immediately. They had trained together long ago under the same master. They hugged, but Genji had to pull away due to the pain in his chest. "You survived!"
"Yep," Genji said. "Where am I?"
"In a friendly part of the wall. watchtower thirty six."
"We've been pushed back this far?" Genji asked anxiously.
"No, we're still fighting at watchtower forty two (A/N : EXTREMELY OBSCURE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY REFERENCE) but we're dropping like flies." Isabelle sighed, her expression grim
"Hey," said the figure who had previously been slumped over the seat "mind if I try to lighten the mood?" Emma walked over to them. "I knew you would survive," she said.
"Sorry to interrupt the reunion." A sharp voice entered the room "but Isabelle, you should be on duty, you've had enough time off. The mongols are attacking from below and the Vikings are coming from watchtower forty one, we are completely unprepared to face this threat." Ordered the gruff voice. "You, the elf and the commander of watchtower eighty eight, get along the wall to safety."
Just as Isabelle made to leave the room, Genji grunted. "No. I'll fight - we probably won't make it to the other watchtower in time. I can't run forever."
"You are injured! You can't help. You would hinder us." The general boomed, gentle but firm.
"How long have I been out?" Genji groaned, trying to steer the question away from his current condition.
"Two days. You have recovered with miraculous speed." Emma replied with a smile. "Your huge stab wound is only a shallow cut somehow." Genji looked up at General Mark Van Eykenhof.
"I will be almost fully healed by the time they arrive. Please let me fight."
"No." The general snapped, adamantly refusing. "You would be a liability."
"With all due respect," said Genji, starting to become impatient, "With all due respect, I survived on the run for days, slaughtering Vikings. I can fight. At least let me have my weapons." He said. The general seemed to ponder this for a few minutes before giving up."Fine. Get up the watchtower. Your weapons are in the armoury, just tell the armourer that you're the commander of watchtower eighty eight." Genji practically somersaulted off the bed, looking down at his chest in surprise when his bandages fell off. All that was left was a thin scar.
A/N: Sorry if this is bad I'm watching friends right now (Comment if you like it!!!) Also sorry that it's quite short.
