We warp quickly to Earth and I call 911, trying my best to calm the panic in my voice.
"Hello? My boyfriend overdosed and I don't know what to do... Please send an ambulance quick!" I almost shout into the phone, my heart starts to race and I can't think straight. Kieth can't die... I'd be so lost without him...
"Sir, please calm down so we can help you better. We'll send an ambulance out now. What is your current location?" I try to take a few deep breaths as we land on Earth, and I carry out Kieth bridal style.
"Uhh... 142 Brighton street? Please come quickly! I wouldn't be able to stand it if he died..." I say in a slightly less panicked tone, but still worried for Kieth's health. "I understand. The ambulance is on its way now to your location." "Thank you." I hang up the phone and I check for Kieth's heartbeat again, and I cry more.
"Don't you dare die on me, Kieth... I still need you here with me..." I hold his head close to mine, and I cry into his hair. I lose track of time in my fit of tears, that I'm a little bit startled when the paramedics come up behind me.
"Are you the one who called?" One of them says in a nice tone, to which I could only respond with a nod. "Okay," he turns his head to one of the other paramedics. "Get out a stretcher for him," then turns back to me, "you should come with us to the hospital."
I nod again, as I lay Kieth's limp body onto the stretcher and I'm hit with a wave of fear and sadness all over again. I get into the back of the ambulance, and I look at Kieth when he's brought in with me. I hold his cold hand in both of my warm ones, and I think about what happened before this.
"Kieth," I whisper to myself, my voice broken and throat filled with tears, "please live... I swear to love you all my life... Just live..."
Would any of you believe it if I told you that I've never experienced this sort of thing? I've never thought of killing myself, or have had to do this for a friend?
I dunno, I guess it could be a "fun fact", even though it's depressing and I'm lucky to have never gone through this yet in my life.
