After about an hour of pacing back and forth in the waiting area, a nurse and one of the surgeons walks over to me and my heart sinks. 'Is he okay? Please let him be alive... I miss his touch too much... I love him too much... Kieth... Please don't leave me...'
"Are you Lance?" The nurse asks. "Is Kieth okay?" I feel myself about to cry again, and my heart is beating fast from the anticipation.
The doctor and the nurse look at each other with eyes of sadness, and then they look back again at me. The doctor was the first to speak, "I'm so sorry, Lance. We were unable to save him. Would you like to see him one last time?" My eyes widen at the news that I've been fearing to hear for the past hour, causing me fall to my knees and let out my tears. I feel that I can't do anything other than cry. 'Kieth's dead... He's dead and now I don't know what to do with myself... And now that Kieth's dead and Shiro's missing, we don't have a paladin to pilot the black lion...' I stand up and look at the nurse and surgeon with my bloodshot eyes, and I nod slowly.
The three of us walk to Kieth's temporary room, and my heart breaks. His eyes were shut, as if he were sleeping; his mouth is slightly open, almost looking like he was about to say something; his face is at rest, peaceful, almost.
My heart aches at the sight of Kieth, the love of my life, lying there on a hospital bed without a beating heart. I walk closer to his side, and I take hold of his pale hand. I use my other hand to play with his black hair, and my heart breaks even more as I realize that this will be the last time I do this.-SoulEvans5
