Envy

a/n: Ok so first off I just want to thank everyone who actually took time out of their day to look at my one shot because that means a lot to me so here is another one for ya.

btw this is a short one cause i'm tired. I haven't gotten sleep in like 3 days so yeah. I'll make part 2 soon.

Lance POV:

"Great work today team! Keith you did awesome, I can tell the training you've been doing is helping!" Shiro exclaims. Keith smiles and looks proud that Shiro is giving him a complement.
"Yeah Keith way to go!" Pidge says. Sometimes I wish I could be like Keith. Have everyone on the team give me complements and actually notice me. I'm guessing Hunk can tell that i'm upset and says, "You know, Lance did a good job at keeping us balanced!" I smile, he almost made me believe him for a second. Everyone nods but then turns back to Keith. I sigh, I guess i'll always be the same Lance. The one that jokes when things are serious. The one who flirts to lighten the mood. And the one who argues with Keith 24-7. It's not like I try to argue with him, it's just. I could never meet his standards and it pisses me off so much. Not only that but. I like him. Even though I envy him, deep down I know he isn't trying to get attention and when we get along I feel my stomach do flips and turns. I look at Keith again seeing that smile on his face. Wow, he has a pretty nice smile. Keith notices i'm staring at him.
" What."
"Oh nothing I was just gonna say your mullet looks terrible today." I fake a laugh hoping everyone will fall for it. No one laughs. They all stare at me, annoyed.
"Come on Lance this one time can you be serious." Shiro says with a stern look on his face.
"Yeah Lance I know you like to tease Keith but this is getting ridiculous." Pidge exclaims rolling her eyes.
"Maybe your just jealous." Keith says. Ouch. That hurt.
"What. Me, jealous. Pfft, why would I be jealous of you." I fake another laugh, this time everyone glares at me. Even Hunk.
"LANCE CANT YOU BE SERIOUS FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE AND STOP LAUGHING ALL THE TIME. THE WORLD ISN'T FUNNY, OK. ITS PRETTY FUCKING DEPRESSING AND AWFUL! SO JUST ONCE, SHUT UP!" Keith screams his hands balled in fists. Everyone looks surprised, but for some reason, I know this was coming. I feel tears about to pour down my cheeks. I can't let them see me cry dammit. I shake it off and say,
"Your right. I'm sorry for laughing, I know the world is an awful and depressing place. I didn't mean to make you guys upset." I do one last smile and walk off towards my room.
