Chapter 11
"Yes," I replied. I really wanted to know what he had to tell me. He looked down at me, changing back into a human. I decided to change back to, but before I could, he clasped my arm.
"If you change back into a human you won't have clothes on," he said. I blushed, knowing it was true. He stood up, walked over to the bag and pulled out a white dress, one I saw Faeconi stuff into a bag after I changed the first time.
"What's so special about that dress," I asked, watching Dan walk over with it.
"It will fit your new human form," he replied.
"New," I asked.
"Werewolves who change when their teenagers, well, they...fill in," he replied, embarrassed by the conversation. I stood up, completely eye level with Dan as a human. "You're taller when you're a werewolf as well."
"What do you mean by 'fill in'," I asked, trying to stay on topic.
"You'll see," he replied, a small smirk forming on his face as I took the dress from him and walked away. I turned around as he leaned against a tree, looking the other way.
"You better not look," I shouted back at him. He laughed as I looked back again, his back still facing me. I walked further away, until I couldn't see him any longer. I changed back into a human, studying myself, trying to take in the difference. I was at least an inch taller, and my chest grew. I sighed, knowing no one would look at me the same way again. I slipped by dress on, pulling on the part over my chest. It was slightly snug around my rib cage, but I dealt with it. I pressed the bottom of my dress down, sliding on an undergarment that Daniel pulled out of the bag. I found two white slippers as well, and put them on my feet.
I walked back towards Daniel. He stood in the same spot, holding the bag in one hand. Daniel completely healed after the incident with the werewolves. He looked over at me, smiling when I stopped right next to him.
"You're scratches are gone," he said, looking pleased.
"Well, I can heal," I replied, rubbing my cheek and neck where the werewolf bit me.
"But," he said, cutting himself off. Luthera walked towards us from the stream, breaking into our conversation.
"Did she follow us," I asked.
"Yeah, I told her to," he replied.
"You told her," I asked, puzzled.
"Even though horses can't speak, they are good at understanding," Daniel explained. He looked down, studied my body and turned toward Luthera. "She's going to take us somewhere."
"Where are we going," I asked as he got up on Luthera, holding a hand out for me to take. I took it, and he pulled me up behind him.
"A place you knew when we were young," he replied. He kicked Luthera and she started off at a canter, obeying Daniel's every command.
"For your sake, I'll listen to him," Luthera said, huffing out a breath. I smiled back at her, sighing.
Luthera galloped with us on her back for over two hours. She didn't sound tired, but sweat caked her white fur. She stayed at a steady pace, letting Daniel guide her. I hugged Daniel's abdomen, even though I didn't need to. I could ride on a horse, standing up. I felt that it would comfort Daniel, and he worried less.
"How far do we have to go," I asked.
"It's not far from here," he replied. He looked back at me with a big smile across his face. I pressed my cheek to his shoulder blade, letting Luthera's movement keep me in reality.
