Elijah's POV

"Ethan! Elijah! Dinner's ready!" our mom yelled outside.

"Coming!" I yelled back. I was playing outside with my basketball.

Ethan was just sitting in a chair, supervising me. Our parents get busy sometimes, and they choose Ethan to take over. I never get a chance to be in charge, and I'm never alone with Ethan here. I love Ethan, he never is really annoying or anything. He doesn't ignore me at all, either. I never want Ethan to leave me, but I know we will have to leave each other.

"You coming?" I asked Ethan. No response. "Ethan?"

"Hm?" he responded as he looked up from his hand.

"Are you gonna eat?" I asked.

  "Oh, yeah."

"Let's go in then. Dinner's already done."

"Alright, let's go in," he said getting up from his chair and pushing his hair back. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen!

Ethan and I sat down at the table and started eating our food. Ethan took a couple bites and then left. He barely ate anything, even though it was hard to tell. All he ever wore was black, black, black, and more black. Did I mention that he wears a lot of black? He always pretty much wore a black hoodie with ripped black jeans and black sneakers. Under that hoodie was, you guessed it, a black shirt. To school and back, that's all he wore. His wardrobe was just full ad black, and mine was full of color. That's how everyone at school tells us apart. I'm the popular, cheerful kid. Ethan's the tagalong Girl Scouts cookie because no one really wants to be his friend, so all he has is me. I don't really mind, though.
I have always wondered why he just left. He didn't really talk about his life that much to anyone but me, and that made people worried. I was the only one who knew what was happening in his life. He just kinda stopped hanging out with people. It just got worse as we got older. Now, in 7th grade, I'm the only person he hangs out with. I think he should meet some new people, but he really doesn't want to. He always gets upset when I hang out with my friends and he's just there. We do incorporate him into things-but sometimes our mom forces him to come into things, even if I don't want him to or he doesn't want to. Anyhow, I finished eating my dinner and went up to our room. (Yes I am making them share a room.)

"Heyyy Ethan," I said, swinging into the room. He was on his phone.

"Hi Elijah," he said, still looking at his phone.

"Whatcha looking at?" I asked, sitting on his bed.

"Nothing," he responded, hiding his phone.

"You dummy. You're obviously looking at something."

"I am looking at something. I just don't want to show you."

"Pleeeeeaaaaassse," I begged.

"No," he chuckled.

"Ethaaaan."

"Fine," he said. "I'm looking at pictures."

"Of who?" I asked, laying on his chest.

"Of us," he said, playing with my hair.

"Ooh, I remember this one." It was us roller skating a year ago.

"Okay, can we go to bed now?"

"Sure, but I'm staying right here," I said.

"I wasn't expecting you to move anyways," he smiled.

"Can we take a picture?"

"Why?"

"Because I want to remember this moment you idiot," I chuckled.

"Fine," he said, pulling out his phone. "Smile!"

I didn't smile. I have him a kiss on the cheek.

"Awwww," he squealed. "I'm going to make this my background."

"Goodnight, Ethan."

"Goodnight, Elijah," he responded, giving me a kiss on the forehead.

Right before we went to sleep, our parents came in to say goodnight to us.

"Oh," our mom said. "Did I interrupt something?"

"No, mom. Goodnight. Love you."

"Goodnight. Love you, too," our mom responded.

"Goodnight dad," Ethan and I said at the same time.

"Goodnight," he responded.

Then they let us be alone for a few minutes. Ethan was playing with my hair, and it was so calming.

"I love you, Ethan," I said, giving him a kiss.

"I love you, too, you idiot," he laughed.

"I'm not an idiot!" I quietly screamed. "You are, you id-" I got cut off by him kissing me. On the lips. We pulled apart.

"Now go to sleep you idiot," Ethan said.

"I'm not tired. You just woke me up with that kiss."

"Well can you at least try?" he said, kind of annoyed.

"Okay, fine."

"Thank you," he said in the cutest way possible.

We snuggled in Ethan's bed that night. I never wanted the night to end, especially knowing that he wouldn't be like this pretty much any other time. If this was how Ethan reacted with me around my friends, I think more people would like him. Everyone at school ships us. Ethan and I have grown used to it, but I still find it a bit crazy.

I FINISHED THE CHAPTER! My only goal for me is to finish this story, even if Skethan isn't my OTP anymore. Even if I don't watch them anymore, there still needs to be some fanfic about them!
