Not again

Home work, check

Then what the heck am I missing?!?!

Oh, Ash. Where is he? 

He's going to be late. 

Let's ignore the fact that I'm half an hour early. But if he is not fully changed by now. He won't make it downstairs on time.

I knock on his door but he doesn't answer. So I just walk in. It was open anyway...

"You've got to be kidding me." I mutter. 

There he is. Lying on his bed, with his jean half put on. And one arm out of his shirt, the other in. 

Why? Why is this guy related to me? WHY?

I shake him slightly and he throws a punch in the air. Really? You've got to be kidding me. 

"Wake up." I whisper. "Wake up." A little louder. "Ash. Wake up." I'm speaking even louder now. "ASHTON. WAKE. UP!" I shake him with every word. 

He finally wakes up with a scowl. And gives me a hard glare. I point at the time and help him get ready. 

I brush his hair while he washes his face. Unlike me, he hates showering in the mornings. So he showers at night and washes his face in the morning.

We did make it in time. Miraculously. 

I walk outside and make the line for snack. I get to go first with a few other friends because we are prefects and are on 1st break duty. 

I run to the slides with Emily behind. Olivia is waiting for us there. We climb the wooden games in order to get to the very top and practice our favourite lines. I feel so much older than I am when I do this job. I imagine I work in Disney helping people get on rides. It's actually just a few normal slides and a ball pit but I love it. 

The first kid comes on the games. I don't really recognize him. I guess he is a few years younger. He comes up but before he gets in the slide, Emi and I stop him. "Please keep your hands and feet in the ride at all times. Remember, you cross your arms over your chest and lay back. Enjoy your ride." We chorus. The kid just gives us a weird look and goes to the slide. He looks back at us and sighs, doing what we told him. 

A few rides later, a girl one year younger than us, I think her name is Domenica, comes for a ride. She gets along really well with Emi, but I don't know her that well. She comes over and we tell her our practiced lines. But at the end, Emily adds in an innocent voice: "Do you want us to sing any song for you while you slide down?" The girl smiles a little when she sees my eyes wide. 

She says, just as sweetly. "Skyscraper, by Demi Lovato." She smiles wide. "Please." 

OMG I will kill Emi. I give her a pleading look but she laughs. It is pretty contagious so I laugh with her. I shrug. "Sure."

I sing the song for the girl and she claps for me as she goes down. I smile and try not to let anyone see me blush. Sure, friends have told me that I sing well but I'm not so sure.

Finally, time for lunch. 

I eat as fast as I can trying not to taste the awful cafeteria food. I swallow without smelling and amazingly finish half the food. I eat more salad and leave the rest there. I just can't have that anymore.

I run back to my prefect post with Emi and wait for the next prefects to appear. Sure enough here they come, I salute them with two fingers to my forehead and slide down. Emi goes her own way to speak to some teacher that gave her a bad grade. 

I go straight to our fave meeting place. And of course they're already there. Underneath the slide, between the ball pit and the stairs. Where it's quiet most of the time. Mia, Olivia, Rachel, Jacob, Isaac, Luke and Adam are sitting in a circle. The only spot available is between Isaac and Jacob. 

Really? Isaac, my last year crush, and Jacob my current crush.

Isaac is talking to Oli, his Girlfriend. So... I have to speak to Jacob.

But just at that moment Charlotte appears. Another friend of mine. 

Everyone goes silent. Jacob and her fought recently because he was asking her out and she said no. Vey rudely. So, he's mad at her. And he says that it was just a joke. SO, she got mad.

Too hot, hot damn!

Jacob sings to break the awkward silence. I roll my eyes. Charlotte gives him a glare. He just smirks and says "What are you mad about. I was talking about myself."

Gotta kiss myself I'm so pretty. 

He finishes and chuckles a little. Char just storms off. 

"Wow. So we're singing now." Luke grins and makes eye contact with Adam. 

"Well Gaby. Do you remember fourth grade with Jade." I blush. I do remember. But Jacob's new so he looks at me curiously. I shake my head at the three boys with a smile.

"'Cause when the daylight comes I have to go, but tonight I'm gonna hold you so close."

Luke and Adam sing really off key. 

I can't believe I was embarrassed one day when they sang this song. No. Actually, I can believe it. Who am I kidding, they sang it directly to me and Jade Every. Single. Day. They literally sent us e-mails with the song lyrics. 

They were so weird. We all were. We all are. 

I'm gonna miss these guys so bad.
