Chapter 8: Red's Mother

Green

"Little town it's a quiet village.
Everyday like the one before.
Little town full of little people, waking up to say..."

"Bonjour?" I look at Red. We then both start dying laughing.

"I guess you saw that movie too." I say while laughing.

"Only my favorite movie."

We walk throughout Pallet town to Red's house. This place is so cute and quaint. I wish I could of lived in a town like this. My eyes wander everywhere through out the town. We walk over a small cobblestone bridge that crosses a tiny, crystal blue river. It's so clear, I see my reflection in it.

"You're so lucky." Red stops and turns to me. His face has a hint of confusion.

"How do you figure?" He says while leaning against the bridge banister.

"You can do whatever you want. Go wherever you want. Things I couldn't do for so long." I put my elbows on the banister. I look at Red's face.

"But you had whatever you wanted. Anything your heart desired." I turn around and face the water.

"Did I have everything. Money doesn't buy happiness like you believe. It only brings materials that don't mean anything in life." I sigh and look at my reflection. Then a Vaporeon meets the surface and starts jumping around. Cool water splashes against my face and I chuckle. Red laughs at me too. He takes off his jacket and dries my face.

"Money doesn't buy happiness? You'd think it would. But it makes sense. A strong family bond, friends and pokemon brings happiness."

"Something I never had. All I had was my Eevee. Oh... How I miss her." We start to walk again. We pass the professor's lab on the way to Red's.

"That's the professor's lab. We'll stop by later. He's really an amazing person." We get to Red's house and start to walk up the pathway.

"I've heard a lot about him. I used to love listening to his radio show. It was so interesting, so fun." We reach the door and knock.

"I always used to hang out in the lab, playing with the pokemon and all." The door opens. All I hear next is a squeal.

"RED! Your home!" He gets pulled into, I guess his mom's arms. I laugh a little.

"Mom! Your embarrassing me." Red said barely being able due to the lack of air from being squeezed to death.

"Oh honey, that's my job." She squeezes Red even harder which is kind of hard to believe.

"Mom!" He says loudly. I can see his face getting so red, it's kind of cute. I cough a little to get her attention. She turns her head to see me.

"Oh. Hehe. You brought a friend... Wait..." She stops hugging Red and looks at me. She gets a little close for comfort.

"Mom, you're acting a little creepy." She doesn't look back, she just keeps looking at me.

"Um... hell..." His mother interrupts me.

"Shh..." She puts her finger against my lips. Um... Somebody help me.

"Hmm... I can't think of it." She backs up a little.

"Um... Okay. Well thank you." I say happily. She looks at me weird.

"For what?" She scratches her head like when you are completely clueless.

"For not knowing who I am." If this was a T.V. show, a little question mark would have appeared over her head.

"His name is Prince Green of Eindoak, Mom." Red says softly. He knows I don't want to bring that much attention to me even though my outfit is a little... um, unorthodox. I'm still wearing my Masquerade costume. It's in almost perfect condition except for being water damaged. I still have the mask which is a little weird but whatever. My bandages that are on my abdomen are visible due to the lack of a shirt but others are hidden. She gasps when she hears this.
