(A/N)- This story is told from the point of view of both characters throughout the chapters. Just thought I should add that oh and this may make the numbering for the chapters a little weird enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------       I had just gotten out of the hospital for more treatment. Since I've said that I might as well just let the cat out of the bag... I have cancer, lung cancer to be exact. The doctors basically said that the treatment wasn't working and they didn't think it ever would. They also told me that I have about three months to live before I start to get sick, or sicker than I am, and I die. I'm not sad and every time I do get depressed I think about this quote from The Fault in our Stars (I know it's a sappy book for a guy) "Some infinities are bigger than other infinities" and I have lived through my infinity very happily. I don't feel the need to tell anyone either. I would rather that my friends and family treat me the same than to treat me any different. Now that I'm done explaining my situation I can tell you my story.

So like I said I had just gotten out of the hospital. Any other person would have gotten the news and went to go and cry in a solitary corner somewhere. Me, I went to this cool coffee shop that sells the best donuts and plays really cool music. It was too hot outside for coffee so I ordered this new bacon maple donut. If I'm going to die I might as well eat like it. I went to pull out my sketch pad with one hand and I bumped into someone, and my glasses fell off. I couldn't see anything until this I felt this soft pair of hands place them back onto my face.

"Sorry, I should really start paying attention to where I'm going." said this beautiful girl with emerald green eyes and bright curly red hair. "I'm Skylar by the way, and your glasses are super cool... sorry I knocked them off of your face."

"It's fine" I said. she looked kind of sad that I didn't say anything more so I went for it. "and I'm Jayce. Sooo uh would you like to sit with me and enjoy our donuts without anymore accidents" She gave me a surprised look and nodded her head in this cute little way that was almost child like. While we were there she told me that she was a 23 year old artist and she owns her own art studio where she sells custom pieces to people. She also likes to sculpt and make costumes for her hobby of cosplaying (AWESOME!!)  I told her how I worked as a cook at this really pricey restaurant in New York City but I also sketch and bake- yes I bake- in my free time. We hit if off really quickly being that we are different in so many ways. She has this child-like innocence to her that made me forget all about what was happening in my life. I had to see her again so I asked her to go to this roller rink I heard about on the radio. I was sure that all of them were wiped out ever since the 70's, especially in New York, but I guess I was wrong now all I have to do is wait for Friday, just two days. Nothing can go wrong... that is until I realize that I can't skate at all... ugh damnit. Well you and I both know that I'm not going to put effort into practicing so if I fall on Friday she is going down with me, and we are going down hard. At least there won't be too many people to see, I mean who wants to go to a roller rink nowadays.
