Before I Go...

Questions and Secrets (Chapt. 3)- Jayce

        I didn't really know what I wanted to ask her the words were just kind of coming out. I had a general idea what I really wanted to do and it was absolutely crazy to think that I could pull this off. 

"If your asking me to be your girlfriend the answer is yes."Skylar said with a smile splayed across her face.

"That actually wasn't the question I wanted to ask" her smile started to droop" because I kind of figured with the kiss and all that that was where we were anyway." Her smile started to return "This question is probably way bigger than any question you have ever been asked." I said gesturing at how big it was with my arms wide open.

"Get to it then the anticipation is killing me! Also if this is a marriage proposal I think we may need to slow this down just a tiny bit you know because we are just so young and we  just wet like a few days ago and..." I stopped her rambling by pecking her on the lips" and then there is that." she said giggling.

"It is not a marriage proposal, it is way more fun than planning a wedding." I hesitated asking the question because I just knew she would say no. So I just took a deep breath closed my eyes and said it " I want you to travel the world with me. I want you to see things we have never seen before with me. I want to cross off everything on our bucket list and maybe more and it has to be you I do it with. It has to be you because well I think I might love you. I know it sounds crazy, all of it but it's true. I want to experience the world with you because... well we may not have a lot of time left on this earth. So will you go with me?" I then realized that my eyes were still closed and opened them.

"Well I... I um... Wow that was a big question um" 

I got up feeling the tears stinging my eyes but not letting them out " It's okay, it really is I mean i get it I may have taken it way to far it's just that... you just wouldn't understand." I said starting to walk off.

" I'll do it !" I turned around just to make sure I wasn't just hearing things. 

"What?" 

"I saiiiid I'll do it !" she said running up and tackling me in a hug. I would have fallen over if it wasn't for the fact that she is so small. " but on one condition."

"What is it I will do anything." I said completely serious.

"Answer this question. Do you really love me I don't want to go through all of this just to have my heart broken." At that moment I really wanted to tell her that I was dying. I just didn't seem fair to her that I was keeping this secret from her. I just couldn't say it to her.

" Of course I love you. I love every bit of you. Every strand of your bright red hair, every bit of those big green eyes, and every smile you give me. Skylar Marie Jackson you make me happy." She looked like she was moved to tears. "Awe I didn't mean to make you cry." I said with a slight chuckle.

"Oh shut up! It's just I've never felt like this before. I've never had this strong of a connection with someone and now I know what true love feels like." 

        Later I took Skylar home. I hugged her, gave her a kiss, and said good night. Then I stopped. "Make sure to have your bags packed."

"What? Why?"

"I want to leave as soon as possible even if that means leaving tomorrow morning." She laughed at how excited I was agreed and began to go inside. "Wait!"

"Whaaaaat I'm tired!" she said in a voice that reminded me of a toddler.

"You forgot something." 

"And what might that be?"

"I love you" I said smiling like an idiot.

"I love you too." she said going inside and ending a perfect night.
