~3rd POV~
Head Mistress Cinderella was hosting another school ball, however this one was different. It was a girls ask boys ball and there were quite a few complications for most of the girls. For example half of the freaking school wanted to go with one guy and that was just impossible. Of course, that one guy was the one and only Hawk SnowWhite.
Anyways, most of the school was confused about this project since it seemed weird to them. However Cinderella explained that this was for the princesses to understand that sometimes they have to do things themselves if they wanted it done.
Of course many princesses refused this, not because they were scared but because they had no one to go with. Which ment there were gonna be a lot of single guys and girls walking in to the ball and dancing with their also single best friend.
There were only a few more days before the ball and almost everyone was either freaking out about who and how they were going to ask, if their crush was gonna ask them and what the hell they were gonna wear.
And then there was Rose Cinderella, the one and only. She was of course excited, but scared at the same time. She wanted to ask a sertant blue-haired prince but was scared je would reject her. In her mind at least, the fear was understandable for everyone else she just looked stupid.
Rose wasn't stupid of course, just very oblivious to feelings derected at her, especially romantic ones. Her teammates all knew that sertant prince liked her, it was very obvious up close. He would stare at her in class, one time she fell asleep he just watched her and put his jacket over her do she wouldn't be cold.
The look he had as he looked at her, even if she wasn't looking back just showed admiration, love and a real wish for her to just understand and return his feelings. He always protected her and she did the same.
Most of the non-insane princesses in the school had already figured, after he rejected every girl that asked him, that he was waiting for one to ask him. That one being Rose herself. They were jelouse of course, but hoped for the prince to at least be happy with someone that makes him happy.
Rose was lost in all of this. She had no idea how to ask, nevertheless if he would even say yes. But she knew she had to at least try. She tried to hide her nervousness, but failed very clearly. The blond-haired Cinderella was currently in a dark part of the hallway in school with her three friends next to her, trying to tell her to at least try.
"Rose you gotta do it, if I could ask Travis you can ask Hawk too", LingLing encuraged her.
"No LingLing! What if he says no?! I'll embarrass myself in front of the entire school! The girls will never stop teasing me about it!", Rose whisper yelled at them.
"Oh Rose for the 1568th time he likes you too!", Astoria yelled, getting very irritated with her best friend's behaviour.
"No he doesn't! You can't prove it!", Rose yelled back.
"Yes he does!", the three princesses yelled at the Cinderella.
"Oh for my grade's sake! Do you not see the way he looks at you!? The way he talks to you!? How he protects you! He likes you too! He loves you! He has since you cane here and you never noticed!", Astoria yelled, finally done with her friend's dumb excuses.
Rose stayed silent, she looked at her feet remembering everything he had done for her and repeating every word the ivy-haired princess had just said. It finally clicked. Sh finally relised it. Eveything she made herself belive was a lie. He DID like her and she had ignored him this entire time.
And then she remembered it:
"Hawk . . . You know, brave hero stuff aside . . . You're a pretty sweet guy"
"Well sorry I swept you away from Hattie . . . I-I-"
"Oh no! Hattie! I forgot to get a souvenir for my FairyTale collection! Hattie! HATTIE!"
He was trying to confess to her, and she just left him outside. Heartbroken because she wanted a souvenir from a another guy. How stupid of her!
"I-I-m . . . I'll do it!", Rose said and looked over to where he was standing. There he was in all his glory talking with Travis, but something was off. He looked sad.
'Am I the cause of that feeling?' Rose thought to herself.
"About time! Now go!", Joy exclaimed and pushed her forward. Rose looked back with a slightly nervous look on her face while her friends gave her a thumbs up and winked. She smiled back at them and walked over to Hawk.
"Hey Hawk", Rose said more quietly than usual as she came over to the two boys.
Hawk looked up, once he saw who it was his expression immediately brightened:"Yeah?"
"Well . . . Uhm, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the ball with me? I can understand if you don't I just wanted to-", Rose started rambling but was stopped when she felt a pair of lips press against her's.
"I thought you'd never ask", Hawk said as he let go.
"Uhm . . . Well I almost didn't . . . hehe I'm glad I did though", Rose said with a blush.
--Meanwhile--
"You owe us Dr. Le Frog", Cinderella said as SnowWhite continued watching the now couple laugh and talk with each other.
"Ohh, poor me", the old frog whispered to himself as the professers fangirled over their grandkids.
