Shocking

Do you know that feeling of pure dread? Or the feeling of too much adrenaline being pumped into you because of a terrifying event?

This feeling can be recalled by everyone. Every person on this planet has experienced this feeling at least once.

The feeling can be compared to riding a rollercoaster that can throw you off at any minute. I had a similar experience once.

Back in London, they have a lot of scary rides that America doesn't have and are probably scarier too.

One day, while at a carnival with my friends, they showed me this terrifying ride that can be described at two hammer like swings.

The name of the ride is The Hammer. Ironically.

Because there were few people at the carnival, I did not get to see the ride in action. So when we got into the ride, I was blind to what was going to happen.

The seats were hard, cold and yellow. The space for my legs and feet were to small. The straps used to hold you in place felt flimsy and old.

While my friends looked excited and happy, I was terrified and unable to speak. Nonetheless, we paid for the ride and waited for it to start.

I was seated at the left side, right next to the exit. My friend, Liv, was sitting next to me while the rest of my friends were in front of us.

Suddenly, the floor beneath the ride sank and the ride shuddered a bit. That simple and small movement gave me chills that I can only describe as dread.

The hammer like machine we were sitting in, started to sway. Slowly back and forth, driving me insane. I couldn't understand why I was so scared of this stupid ride.

It started to sway more. Further back and further forth. Giving me goose bumps that just wouldn't go away.

I bit my lip when the ride shuddered again. This time it was harder and longer. I could taste the matallic taste of blood because of how hard I was biting down on my lip.

The ride swayed more, on its way to be turned upside down. It went all the way up and when it swinged downwards, I could feel the blood drain from my face.

The hammer spinned in circles, not stopping. When we reached the top again, the ride stopped. Leaving us upside down, high in the sky.

For a solid minute, we stayed like that then fell back down the way we came. All my friends were yelling in excitement and I in terror.

After all of the excitement the ride was over. "Not so scary after all, ey?" Liv asked me. Slowly, I looked at her with my pale complexion.

Truth is, everything was okay. Dread may be present during the event but the results will be okay. Hopefully, that includes my current situation.

Matt, Haylee and Alex all look at me expectantly. I am so scared of the judgement that I am barely able to think straight.

You're crazy. You're insane. You think what you saw was real. No! Its your fault she died. You know it. Just admit it. You killed her!

My mind keeps racing with these thoughts. I shut my eyes tightly and use the technique that I was taught to clear my head.

When I open my eyes again, my friends are staring at me weirdly. "Okay let me make this easier for you. You answer the questions we ask you." Haylee suggests and I nod in reply.

This will hopefully be easier and more comforting. With one last deep breath, I give one simple nod for them to ask away.

"You look different. Why the change?" Alex asks before anybody else. I chuckle lightly because I knew he was going to ask this.
