Shortly after those specials I became pregnant for the third and final time. And on May 27th 1988, I bore our son, Alexander. We also, released an album each with our bands and they were hits! Captured By A Lovestorm was as big a hit as ABBA's Waterloo, and like with Waterloo, we sang a Swedish version the previous year "Fångad av en stormvind". "Stop telling me lies," "Another Girl", and the title song of our album, "We Are Atomic" became hits too. Not just in the Nordic countries, but other parts of Europe too. I remember a particularly sweet moment when we were doing a show. It was a show on German television and then backstage, a man wearing an a-ha jumper, obviously a fan was going to pose with Morten for a photo, but then Morten lifted him up and held him as the picture was being taken! I was there, & I laughed because I was taken aback as well as found it funny at the same time. When I saw the picture I had the same reaction, and I tried to stifle my laugh because I never thought he'd do something like that.
But he told me to feel free because it kind of was meant to be funny a little bit. If my husband was ever unpredictable it was then, but I love him, and to be honest, I found that whole photo thing to be quite endearing. Our son, Alexander is quite like his father in that he did the same thing over 20 years later!
In 1989, we celebrated our 10th anniversary by going to the movies watching "Uncle Buck" and then coming back home for a romantic night.
Morten & I changed our image in 1990. He grew his hair longer, and though my hair was long, I now grew it even longer – it was now down to my waist.
We were not so much like teenagers anymore, but more like rock 'n' rollers! In January of 1991, we went to Brazil for a "Rock In Rio" event. I performed with Nordic the first night & A-ha the second night.
I was a special guest with A-ha, singing with my husband on the A-ha song "Train Of Thought". I love to this day, how he announced me. Saying sweet things about me before he said: "Please welcome my wife, Mia!" He said my wife Mia! At that very moment, I remembered Bjorn's intro, and my husband knew how to give a good intro.
I came out, and we sang together, and we flirted with one another, and after the performance, we shared a beautiful husband/wife kiss before I exited the stage. Little did I know that our diet version of Train Of Thought would be such a hit and released as a single!
We flew to Italy the next evening to make another television appearance before flying to Argentina for more shows. Luckily our chairs in the exclusive part of the plane reclined totally so we could sleep. Jet lag was never an issue for us. We had about a week in Rome before going to Buenos Aries. It was only the first day that we had the show.
Our children were excited to see Rome. We hadn't been to Rome in 5 years. For our Frida it was her second trip. And we were so glad to have been able to take a week's vacation in Buenos Aries as we couldn't explore Rio – we were only there for 2 nights. Also, you know how popular ABBA were in Australia? That's how popular we were in Brazil! We went to the same kind of path with those wired gates like in ABBA the movie. But we were okay, and again this flight was at night so we could sleep. During the hours that we were awake we'd play games with our girls, and do fun family things.
After our show, the owner of the hotel, Luis asked to have a photo with my husband and boy it was exciting! Morten actually dedicated that photo to him a couple of days later. He & his wife, Guadalupe are such lovely people, and always did their best to make our Argentinean vacation enjoyable. Guadalupe had a photo with me, which I dedicated to her. We had hot times in both Italy & Argentina, if you know what I mean.
We then came back to Stockholm, and Magnus & Monica were not only thrilled about our unexpected success in our live performance, but the fact that Monica was pregnant again! We were happy for them, but had we not had a bigger house, we might've felt a little different...
Don't get me wrong, we love them very much, & we would've helped them all the same, regardless, we wouldn't care if we had a one room flat, we still would've taken care of them. Of course they'd look after their own baby as it's their responsibility.
