Nothing much happened in 1994, it was kind of a "recovery year" but it was fine. 1995 was a better year for us Harkets. Morten & I performed "Can't take my eyes off you" on Finnish television in May. We released our English albums (Christian albums in our respective languages were released in 1993). "A Kind Of Christmas Card" was a hit for Morten in Norway, and I had my own number 1 hit in Sweden with "Mamma's Child" with my darling husband on backing vocals, and I wrote it not just because of my daughters, but also because I remember how Bjorn, Agnetha & Linda were as a family, not to mention Anni-Frid and her daughter. I love our kids very much, and I continually look to God for guidance. Shortly after we came back from Finland, I remember very vividly walking around Stockholm with Magnus and Linda. It had been raining, and as we talked, Magnus slipped, and fell on his back and hit his head. But his arm, it seemed hurt most. I managed to get him inside while the people in the cafe called the ambulance. Poor Linda seemed very worried, even though she was just 2 at the time. When the ambulance came, Magnus told me to take Linda home.
I told Monica what had happened when she invited me in for tea. She was obviously as shocked as I was, and it turned out that Magnus had in fact broken his arm. The poor guy had to have it in a cast. Luckily the rest of him was ok, so we were indeed counting our blessings. That was also when Magnus made the decision to quit singing and be an artist. Ha had a studio in town where he'd be from 9 to 5 and he already made a good living doing that, and Monica was going to slow down, herself and take care of the kids. They felt they had their run though once in a while they'd make some appearances.
We hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Norway in 1996. What a time! We watched ABBA win the Eurovision Song Contest and now we were hosting it! We had a wonderful time, and we really liked the Irish act that won the contest.
A-ha reconnected in 1998 after a break, and in 1999, we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary, not to mention that the musical Mamma Mia came out that year too! Of course we were going to attend. It was fantastic that the ABBA boys were still working together.
Our Astrid was also a member of the band A*Teens along with her best friend Marie. Marie was a school friend of hers and she often came to our place, and a few years later she was dating our son, Alexander!
In 2000, it was our turn to host the Eurovision Song Contest again, and this time in was in Malmö, Sweden. Like my husband performed one of his songs when he hosted 4 years earlier, I performed this year and it was fun.
In 2001, our Frida got married. We both walked her down the aisle at her wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were so proud.
