"Gooo, Seahawks!" I heard the calls when I made my way through the deep blue swimming pool. It was a good race. I was in a good mood since Lucas and I figured things out pretty well the day before. I made sure Niall was just a friend, he was satisfied and everything was okay again. He probably forgot about the situation in the dorm room in Ben's house because he didn't even mention it. I was very glad about that! I already swam the last length and I assumed that I was in the lead. I didn't see any whirled water near me and I had a very good feeling about my time. I gave everything once again to finish the race and touched the wall of the pool - first! The cheers were amazing when I dived up from the blue water - it was the same color as Niall's eyes, I realized - and some of the girls of my team came towards me to congratulate. I climbed out of the pool happily and hugged them. Noah joined us and patted my shoulder. "I'm very proud, Lindsey! Great race, you nearly beat your personal best!" I couldn't help smiling brightly to his words. "Thanks, Noah. I'm very satisfied", I answered and looked up at the spectators. I spotted Lucas somewhere in the middle. He was waving at me and threw a kiss in my direction. I was so happy!

After the competition I took my time to take a shower and to get all my things. I liked being the last one. It was so relaxing to take a long shower in the empty school showers and to dress in the empty changing room with all the blue lockers. When I finally exited the school I was very astonished to find Niall waiting on a bench at the entrance. "Hey!", I greeted him surprised and combed my wet hair with my fingers. "Hi, Lindsey! Great race, Congratulations!", he called at me, smiling and waved at me to join him. I recognized a guitar bag leaning to the bench and wondered if they already tried to play together as a band. I went nearer and he looked at me questioningly. "You wanna hang out a bit and talk?", he asked and I had to think of the pool again when I looked in his deep blue eyes. "Course", I agreed. When I was about to put my bag at the bench and sit down, he stopped me. "Wait, I've got another suggestion!"

I followed him curiously. He led me along the school building to the football statium. We sat down in the last row and looked down at the huge field which looked amazing in the light of the sinking sun. "You were amazing in the swimming pool! I think you've been a fish in a former life!", he joked and we laughed. "Thanks, Niall. I really love swimming, could be an opportunity!"

He didn't answer as he was looking down at the football field. "I always wanted to play sports. I tried soccer in my old school in Ireland but I wasn't good enough for the team. I guess, I'm more the musical man", he told me. I recognized a longing in his eyes and looked down on the field again. "You could try it here again!", I suggested, not really knowing what to answer. I was delighted that he shared his thoughts with me, but I was stupid enough to mess it up with my thoughtful answers. He remained quiet.

"Why did you bring your guitar to school?", I asked. Brilliant, Lindsey. There's no better way to have a serious conversation with a cute Irish boy, I thought. He chuckled, probably thinking the same. "You know, I'm actually bringing it with me whenever it's possible. I I just love playing on it! Today I brought it to play on it in the lunch break and also after school. Liam and another guy turned up and they sang along. It was really cool!" I had to smile. "Play something", I told him. "I'd love to hear it!!"

He smiled too and looked around as if he wanted to check out if there was anybody around. "Now?" he asked and I nodded. "Okay, why not...", he agreed and began unpacking his guitar, a beautiful classical instrument. I saw how lovely he acted with it, just like it was a little child. I loved the way he cared about his guitar. He strummed all the strings at first and then he started to play. It was beautiful. I watched his concentrated face as he picked the strings and the melody was actually very moving. After some playing he began to sing!

"Written on these walls are the stories that I can't explain

Leave my heart open but it stays right here empty for days

She told me in the morning she don't feel the same about us in her bones

Seems to me that when I die these words will be written on my stone

And I'll be gone, gone tonight

The ground beneath my feet is open wide

The way that I've been holding on too tight

With nothing in between"

I got goose-bumps when he was singing along to the guitar sound. He had a great voice and he sang with such a passion that it was nearly heart-breaking.

"The story of my life, I take her home

I drive all night to keep her warm and time

is froooozen"

My heart literally freezed when he sang 'frozen'. The atmosphere was so beautiful, the music was amazing and at this moment I was just absolutely, insanely happy with the world.
