Emery's POV
When the bell rang and it was time for lunch, Emery followed people because she didn't quite know where she was going. She followed the crowd of people down to the lunch room, and sat by herself at the end of her class's table.
She set her stuff down on the seat next to her and put her head down. She waited for her class to be called up to get their lunch. When they did, she walked to the back of the line. She got her lunch and went and sat back down at her table.
She quickly ate her food and threw the tray away. On the way back to her seat, Tonya tripped her.
"Oops," she said sarcastically, with a smirk on her face.
"Sorry," she mumbled, walking back to her seat.
She just sat at the table until lunch was over.
Alex's POV
This new girl was weird. And everyone thought so, too. She watched Tonya trip her and he just ignored it and continued talking to Devon and Eric.
"No, dude. Majora's Mask is the best," Eric said.
"No! Ocarina of Time is way better," Devon said.
They were debating which Legend Of Zelda game was the best. Alex didn't really like Legend Of Zelda, so he just listened to their argument.
"Why? Why is Majora's Mask the best," Devon asked. "Please, inform me."
"Because it just is! One does not simply explain why Majora's Mask is like life," Eric responded, with his head up looking at the ceiling lights. "Majora's Mask is best."
"No, Ocarina Of Time."
"Majora's Mask!"
"Ocarina Of Time!"
"What do you think," they both asked me in unison.
I was slightly surprised, because I wasn't expecting it. "Well... I don't like Legend Of Zelda." They both gasped.
"Gasp," Devon said, over exaggeratedly. "How can you not like Legend Of Zelda?"
"It's so annoying," I answered. "Zelda's annoying, I feel like she basically asks to get kidnapped. And that little fairy that's always around Link, that thing's annoying, too!" They both shook their heads and continued arguing about which Legend Of Zelda game is better.
I looked over at that new girl, Emery. She was just... staring. Not at anything in particular... Her eyes were wandering. I realized I was staring at her when she looked over at me and we made eye contact, then she waved her hands in front of her face. I snapped back to reality and looked away, fumbling with my hands.
Emery's POV
She caught that boy staring at her.
'What was he staring at,' she thought out loud to herself. It was the end of the day and she walked onto the bus. There were a lot of people who didn't share a seat with anyone all year, and they didn't want to start now. She walked past the front of the bus, then past the middle when there were no empty seats there. She walked up to the back of the bus.
She hesitantly walked closer to the seats in the back. There was only one empty seat, next to the weird boy that was staring at him earlier. She stepped closer and one of the black girls, who's name is Shakira as far as Emery knows, stood up in front of her, exceeding her height by at least a few inches.
"Where you think you goin'," she asked, quite intimidating.
"I, um, I need somewhere to sit..." she responded with her small voice.
"Why you tryna sit back here," Shakira asked, looking down at Emery.
"I, um, there's no more seats in the front..." she said quietly.
"What was that," Shakira asked, putting her finger by her ear and facing her ear towards Emery.
"There's no other seats," she said a little bit louder.
"What makes you think there's seats back here," Shakira asked.
"I don't know..." she mumbled.
"So fucking stupid..." Shakira said, turning around and sitting back in her seat. She put her legs of on the back of Tonya's seat and put her left leg over her right one.
She saw the Asian kid that was looking at her earlier shake his head and face-palm himself. She walked closer to the back hoping to find a seat.
Alex's POV
'Jesus Christ, what the fuck is she doing," Alex thought to himself.
She watched as she basically walked her way down the stairs to the fiery depths of Hell. She walked closer to the back, looking for a seat, he guessed. She was embarrassing her self so badly, oh my God. She was looking around. He saw everyone there looking at her. God, if looks could kill.
"Oh my fuck, sit down!" he whisper-yelled at her, moving his book bag off on the seat.
She looked at him confused. "What?" she whispered.
"Just fucking sit down," he whisper-yelled at her once more.
She took the seat next to him and kept her head down the whole bus ride. Luckily, her stop came before his, so he didn't have to sit with her as long.
When she got off the bus, he sighed and shook his head in disbelief.
"I can't believe you did that," Eric said, laughing slightly.
"Did what," Alex asked.
"You don't think the whole 'oh my fuck, sit down' thing was a little harsh? You could've just normally told her to sit down," he said.
Alex thought about it for a moment. Maybe it was a little harsh.
"Yeah, I guess you're right..." he said. His stop came soon enough, then he hopped off the bus and walked home, thinking about that Emery girl.
