I worked hard at my job. I tried to, at least. As simple a job it was, I had to be extremely careful about the customer's orders as to not mess them up. I worked in a flower shop. My job was to arrange flowers for special occasions. Right now, I had to arrange flowers for a church service, as Easter is coming up soon.

The bell on the door jingles, signaling another customer, and as I am the partial owner of this shop, I have to answer to all of my customers with a routine smile.

"Hello, I'm (Y/N). Anything I can help you with?" I look at the customer, and feel a blush creep up my face, he looks to be about my age, and he has spiky brown hair and jade green eyes.

"Nah, I'm good. Just looking..." The boy says nonchalantly, wandering about the shop. I curiously look to where he is headed, and he seems to know where he is going, so I go back to arranging the various colors of lilies for that church.

This church had specifically asked for light pink roses to go in-between the white lilies, and as I looked back at that customer, whom was looking at orchids, I got distracted by his good looks and pricked myself on a thorn.

The boy had continued to come to the shop every day after that. It had been a month now. So I figured that maybe his "just looking" was not in fact true. As I like to get to know my frequent customers better, I knew that his name was Green, he was about my age, and that he lived in Pallet Town.

"Uh... excuse me, Green?" I ask to talk to him,

"Yeah? What is it, (Y/N)?" I flinch, as Green seemed to be in a bad mood today,

"What is it that you are needing flowers for?" I politely inquire. Green stops, and looks at me.

"It's almost mother's day. I buy flowers for my mom." He says, glaring at me. I stop, but didn't you say that your parents were dead?

"I don't think that's the whole story, Green. You've been here for a month." I fold my arms across my chest and try to read him. His body stiffens. He stands up and looks down at his shoes.

"You're right, (Y/N). Guess you saw right through me," Green looks me dead in the eye, then continues, "You're the only one alive who knows my life's story besides Red, and there's no way in Hell that I'd be able to come in contact with him up at Mt. Silver!! I- I..." he trails off, voice cracking. He puts his hands on my shoulders and looks up at me once more.

"I buy her flowers to put on her grave every mother's day. She liked orchids, but I could never pick out the right combination of colors for her. But that's what you're here for, right?" Green nervously starts to laugh. "Could you help me?"

That one question sent shivers down my spine. I don't know what made me do it, but I gave him a hug. He just looked so tense!! To my surprise he hugs me back before letting me go to have me look at the orchids. I put them together with my arranging abilities, getting the approval of Green before finishing off the final touches.

"There~!" I wipe the small beads of sweat off of my forehead before handing him the basket, "Finished!" But I wanted to do more for Green!

Green takes the flowers in his hands, "Now, how much will this cost?" he asks me, getting out his wallet to pay. That's it!!

"Consider it a gift!" I smile, "It's yours for free~!" I smile at the boy, wanting to do this for him, and his mother. Green looked shocked at first, but then he picked me up and spun me around.

"Thank you, (Y/N)! You're the best!!" He put his hand up by my head and pulls me in for a tender kiss. I kiss him back, consider my feelings for him to be payment. Yes.
