Chapter 5

(Jade's POV)

We were all walking around Tooth's palace looking for clues about what Pitch might be planning. I knew we weren't going to find anything though because my uncle wasn't exactly sloppy with his attacks and if he's working with his brother then I know for a fact that his attacks are going to be harder to predict timeline wise. "Did you find anything Shelia ?" Bunny asked and walked up beside me. I actually jumped a little at that because I didn't hear him approach me. "Not even a trace of what he was looking for." I answer and then hesitate to continue the conversation. Bunny says nothing at first but then I feel his paws wrap around my waist and pull me until my backs against his furry chest.

"What's wrong Sheila you've been acting off since Pitch fled ?" He asks using one of his paws to stroke my hair. "I'm just afraid of what's to come and of what Pitch said to me." I answer honestly. My response caused him to tighten his grip on me in a protective way. I haven't felt like this in a long time.

I guess it's time I let you all in on a secret of my past. I used to a date a dragon shifter. His name was Blaze and he made me feel loved not only that he was my partner and the first person I went to if I had a problem or issue. That was until the accident that changed everyone's point of view on me that lived on the island or had heard about it.

It was supposed to be a routine patrol and we had been separated due to a huge storm that hit the island. I heard a scream from Blaze and when I found him it had already been to late. His body was mangled and butchered. But what I saw dripping off him had not been blood but it was dark water. He had been killed by Dr. Blakk  but the island had blamed me for his murder and most of them have treated me differently ever since. That's the reason behind why the council treats me harsher then the others.

I snapped out of those thoughts when I felt a lot of distress coming from that feeling. It was like my home was being attacked but had no way of communicating with me.

Bunny suggested that we head back to the sleigh and regroup with the others and I just silently agreed as he released his protective hold on me and I felt his furry, grey paw wrap around my hand and we both made our way back to the sleigh. I had sent my dragon back to the island to check on her daughter. She had agreed reluctantly but went anyways.

"Jade any luck with clues ?" Frostbite asked and I was about to reply when I fell onto my knees in pain and screamed as I felt my wings come out forcefully. That meant only one thing my home, friends and family were all in grave danger.

"My home is under attack." I tell the others and then immediately fly as fast as I could to go help save my home and everyone on it.

(Third Persons POV)

The Six guardians watch as their new found friend flew away to go save her home from a threat. Bunny was feeling really worried he had come to enjoy having Jade around for the short amount of time that he had known her. Bunny had come to love her. In his eyes Jade was the most beautiful and special being he ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Bunny had fallen in love with her but didn't know if she liked him back and feared he never would. "Well what are we standing around for let's go help her !" Jack exclaimed and they all went off to go help out their newest guardian.
