Chapter 8

(3rd Persons POV)

Jade spent the next couple of days healing and getting used to living in the Warren. It wasn't exactly home to her but with the green grass and colourful eggs and flowers, it would eventually be ok.

Jade was in the process of doing some major thinking that made her head hurt. The thoughts mostly consisted of how to fight her two evil uncles that were bent on destroying everything she loved. Until an idea finally came to her.

(Jade's POV)

I finally had an idea and presented it to the guardians the next day. We all met in North's workshop and they were all glad that I was fully healed. "So I thought of an idea on how to defeat our two enemies." I began to say getting their attention. "We both know these two are too powerful together and they won't leave each other's sides due to fear of exposing weakness. But they both have one weakness that I know how to get to." I explain to the gang. "And what would that be Jade?" Jack Frost asked and I walk up to him and the others. "I'm their weakness because my power can counteract their's." I explain calmly before continuing knowing they will object to this idea. "You guys will need to use me as bait because they want to have to get my life energy because my light can kill their darkness or twist them both into the most powerful beings." I waited for their responses. "No we will not put one of our own at risk." They all say at once causing me to sigh and shake my head before jumping onto the top of the globe that shows all the lights of children who believe in them.

"If I'm not used as bait they will come after me and kill me. If that happens they will become unstoppable putting everyone at risk. You and your homes will all fade away until nothing is left because with that power they will make the children no longer believers in Christmas, Easter, the tooth fairy, all the dreams will be twisted into nightmares, and there will be no more winter fun. Is that what you want because that is what will happen. They will destroy everything you know and love." I say and then wait for them to think and make their decision.

They all looked at each other and nodded. "We're in." They all say and I smile. "Good now we need a plan and I have one that no one would see coming." I tell them and quickly explain the plan hoping that they would understand the risks of it and miraculously they did.

There's hope after all to save the holidays and it involves bringing the fight straight to Pitch and Dr. Blakk.

I just never realized how wrong the plan was going to go due to something awful already had taken place just hours before we arrived.
