Melanite is only one of the 10,000 worthless child slaves of the country Zarta.  Her and her fellow slaves have been kept in captivity since they were only five years of age.  Mel has only served just a little more than half of her years at age thirteen, turning on fourteen, and awaits for her eighteenth birthday when she will finally be set free.  In the year 3253, the human race no longer exists on the planet Earth, or even in the Milky Way galaxy.  Seven hundred years prior, the Milky Way galaxy faced harsh disasters and humans were forced to relocate millions of miles away on a planet known as Kotek, an almost perfect replica of Earth.  Now it is fully developed and divided into thirty one countries.  In the beginning, a treaty was signed by each country.  All thirty one were to equally trade resources to each other and support one another in hopes of avoidiong war.  However, Zarta and two other countries are known for failing to share their [Lack of] resources and has put it in trillions of dollars in debt.  The three nations' capitols can't afford to hire their own workers and soldiers.  They were left with nothing and made the decision to obtain every first child a couple has once the individual were to reach the age of five and hold it as a child slave to serve the country's government.  The King of Zarta, Richard Garter and the Zartan government have full custody over Mel.  She has few memories of the precious days she had spent with her family.  The past eight years of her life have only consisted of living life on the edge with the other of the child slaves, ages five to eighteen throughout all three countries, adding up to a total of about 30,000 slaves.  When the rest of the countries decide that something needs to be done, the life Mel thought couldn't get any worse managed to in less than twenty-four hours -by about ten times.  Kotek's first world war could only be one person fault: Melanite Harton's.  And even worse, she wont be spending the next year of her life trying to survive the same hell she has been living for the past eight years, but trying to survive a torturous life that has evolved from the last: "The Impossible."
