Have you ever been stuck in a terrifying nightmare and found it almost impossible to wake up. Well, what if I told you that reality can sometimes be a living hell hole? Let me tell you about a time where me and my friend, Chris were stuck in a "reality nightmare" where we met several new friends.
Kayla's POV:
I apologize for not properly introducing myself. I'm Kayla. I'm a 9th grader, and I'm 15. Oh, and I am also an immortal.
Chris's POV:
I'm Chris, also a 9th grader, also 15, and I'm best friends with Kayla. I've been Kayla's friend since 5th grade.
Kayla's POV:
It started out as a rainy, cloudy day. Me and Chris were walking to school like we do everyday, and it was very windy. I was shocked at how windy it was, the winds were blowing at about 80 mph, and it hardly ever storms here in Arcadia Bay, Oregon.
Chris's POV:
We didn't think much of the rain and wind at first, we just continued walking to school. Then, as we were approaching the school, "SNAP" lightning struck a tree and it split in half which caught on fire. It was really close by us, but nobody got hurt. It just happened straight out of the blue.
Kayla's POV:
The wind was picking up to about 86 mph, and we hurried into the school, before either me or Chris got hurt. When we got inside the school, the power was off, and the building was completely silent. It seemed like nobody was in the building, then we saw Juliette and Caleb, two of our friends, run into a dark classroom.
Chris's POV:
We started to run after Caleb and Juliette, when all of a sudden, the lock down drill echoed through the whole building. We saw a couple kids run into a nearby classroom, and we ran into the closest classroom Kayla and I could find. Kayla was starting to panic and to be honest, I kinda was too. Me and Kayla were huddled in the corner of the classroom. Kayla was definitely scared, I could see her shaking. I grabbed her hand and said quietly, "It's going to be alright, you're safe with me" she jerked her hand back, but nodded I could tell that she was still terrified.
Kayla's POV:
I admit, when me and Chris were in that classroom, I was completely terrified, I had no idea what was going on, but when Chris grabbed my hand, I felt a little less scared, but I was still pretty scared plus a little stressed. All of sudden, there was the sound of gunshots, and they sounded close. We realized that there must be a shooter in the building. I was more scared than I was before, and I'm sure Chris could tell, because he scooted closer to me and whispered, "It's alright Kayla, you're safe with me, I promise, you won't get hurt" I smiled nervously.
Chris's POV:
It may be the wrong time to admit this, but I wanted to just tell Kayla how I feel about her, about my huge crush on her. Even though I was sure she already could tell that I liked her but I really wanted to tell her. In the moment of the shooting, I caught myself staring into Kayla's beautiful violet purple eyes.
Kayla's POV:
When I found myself staring into Chris's green eyes, I felt like Chris wanted to tell me something, so I asked him, "You alright?" He nodded nervously, and as I was just about to ask him something he whispered, "Kayla... there's something I've been wanting you to know, for quite a while.." I asked, "What is it?" Chris whispered, "Kayla, I like you.. a lot, I have for the past two years." I was surprised, but then I asked, "But why?" he continued, "I like you, because you're so caring, you're respectful, you know how to turn the bad days into good days, you're funny, and you are the prettiest girl I know, I love everything about you, Kayla". I smiled and I said, "Thank you" then he said, "It isn't a complement, it's just the truth."
Chris's POV:
When I told Kayla I liked her, everything I said came from my heart, and everything I said was definitely true.
