Jessica's POV
I was sitting in my room thinking about my sweet sixteen party in a few months when there was a knock on the door. My little sister, Kylie ran to open it. My two brothers, Andy and Liam, came running to my room. "Jess, go to the door, look!" yelled Andy. For a twelve year old, he was LOUD. I sighed and went to the door.
Andy's POV
I was successful in getting Jessica! The second she saw who it was she screamed. I think it was a good scream, I mean she is a girl. "Is this a joke? Please be real please be real," she said. The blonde haired girl in our doorway smiled, "I'm guessing that means you know who I am." Jessica screamed again. "Of course I do!" The girl laughed. "So it's true? There really are books about me?" she asked. "Yup," I said. The girl looked at me with her brown eyes. That's when I noticed her were the same as Kylie's.
Liam's POV
"Woah," said Andy. "What?" asked the girl. "Your eyes are exactly like Kylie's. She's the little one." The girl looked at my little sister. Kylie looked up at her. Their eyes really were exactly alike. "Who are you?" asked Kylie, being the only one who didn't read the books. She's kind of a super genius and said reading fiction was a waste of time. She read every nonfiction book in our house (which is a lot) by the time she was seven. Now, two years later she's in middle of going through all the nonfiction books in the library.
Kylie's POV
"Sophie Foster," she said. Jessica screamed. Andy mumbled something under his breath that sounded like "my fictional crush is real". Liam's green eyes widened. "Um...," I said, not knowing why why siblings were going crazy. "Yes, I'm real," she said, looking at Andy. Andy looked at his shoes. "Um... you heard what I said?" he asked. "Yeah. How old are you?" "Almost thirteen." "Almost thirteen?" Jessica butted in, "you just turned twelve three months ago." I could tell Sophie was trying not to laugh. "Either way, I'm seventeen."
Jessica's POV
Seventeen. If Sophie was seventeen, then how old would everyone else be? I started doing the math in my head until I heard someone say my name. Liam punched me, "Jess, pay attention." "I am." "Jessica, are your parents home?" asked Sophie. "How do you know my name?" "Andy told me while you were spacing out." My brothers snickered. "Oh. They're not home. Why? Why are you here?" I asked. She hesitated, "I... I'll tell you all together. When will they be home?" "Late," Kylie answered before I could open my mouth.
Andy's POV
I can't believe she thinks of me as a little kid. I mean I guess she's older than I expected, but still. "Can we meet your friends?" asked Liam. "I'll ask them if they wanna come. Give me a second," she answered, grinning. She proceeded to stare blankly. "Are you transmitting?!" asked Jessica, clearly getting excited. Sophie didn't answer. I guess she was. I started counting the seconds. One, two, three... twenty five, twenty six- "They're coming." Jessica screamed.
Liam's POV
Why does my sister scream all the time? Ugh, it's so annoying. Just then four more people appeared. "Hi," said the dark haired boy. His female look alike smiled and waved at us. The blonde haired boy looked right at Jessica and winked. Jessica giggled and winked back. The other boy just stared at all of us. "You're humans," he said. "Yeah, welcome to earth," said Kylie, not getting that they lived on earth too. "We live on earth too," said Sophie. I looked at her and she smiled. Yes I'm reading your mind. I held back my scream. Um... why?
Kylie's POV
"KYLIE'S A WHAT?!" I heard Liam yell. Everyone stopped and looked him. Sophie sighed. "Kylie, you're not going to believe me, but you're an elf," she said, looking at me. An elf? Yeah right. I searched her face to see if she was crazy or lying but she looked... sincere. "How is she an elf?" asked Jessica, "she's our sister." "I have a human sister too," said Sophie. "But... she's the youngest," added Andy. "So?" I didn't realize I was the one who said it until they all turned to look at me.
Jessica's POV
Poor Kylie. She doesn't understand. "Kylie, let's have a talk," Sophie said as she took her hand and led her to the couch. Andy and Liam followed her for support. I should too, but... I can't pass up the chance to meet the crew. I turned to the girl. "Hey," I said. "Hi. I'm Biana. This is Fitz, Keefe, and Dex," she said. "I know." Keefe cracked up. "Like, how famous are we?" "Well you do have books written about you..." He smiled. So did Biana. But Fitz frowned. "That's actually not good guys." "Sophie didn't panic," Biana told her brother, "that means it's fine." I could tell he wasn't to happy.
Andy's POV
Sophie was telling Kylie everything. Jessica was talking to the others. Liam was hugging Kylie as she cried. I stood up and walked away from them. If I have no place here, I'll just go play video games. I thought about calling some friends to come over but then realized they couldn't know about the elves. Wait... I ran back into the room. "Can people know about you guys?" Sophie and her friends shared a look. "We'd prefer not." "But we know," Jessica said. "You're her family."
Liam's POV
Just then my parents walked in. They froze. Jessica and Andy had made them read the books, they surely recognized them. My mother broke the ice. "Sophie Foster, Fitz and Biana Vacker, Keefe Sencen, and Dex Dizznee." "That's us," said Biana, nervously. My father smiled, "Mr Forkle already told us." The five of them visibly relaxed. "So, what are you going to do about Kylie?" asked Sophie. "We arranged it with him," replied my mother, "she'll board with the Vackers during the week, for school, and come home on weekends. And for the first week Jessica will go with her."
Kylie's POV
They were discussing my life. Which was about to become super weird. I knew I should listen but I blocked them out. I only spaced back in when my mother took me upstairs to pack. We both had tears in our eyes. I would be taking almost everything, but leaving some stuff here for weekends. I can't believe this is happening, that my parents let it happen. Tears stared streaming down my face. My mother wrapped her arms around me and held me tight.
