Off With Her Head

Adeline woke up to the sounds of rain lightly tapping on the windows.

She sat up and stretched, last night had put a lot of things into perspective for her.
No she didn't want to deviate her life to hurting and killing vampires. To be perfectly honest she didn't know what she wanted to do with her life.

She got out of bed and showered, she threw on a white cropped shirt and light washed blue jeans.

She walked downstairs and the house eerily quiet.

"Hello?" She walked into the kitchen and no one was there.

Huh?

Adeline fished her phone out of her back pocket about to dial Sasha's number when the door opened.

"Oh good your up." Athena grinned.

Adeline nodded. "Where is everyone?"

Athena sat down a two dress bags. "All the boys went to get suits for later and your wolf friend went home to get ready and help the mayor. "She said nonchalantly.

"Oh."

Athena said deeply and flopped into the couch.

 "Why gloomier than usual?"Adeline sat next to her eyeing him curiously.

"Haha. Your funny. I feel like I was so close to figuring out how to work the Blade but nothing is working." She sighed in defeat.

Adeline tilted her head to the side then stood up. "Let me see if I can help."

Athena gave her a sideways glance." Why not. You can't possibly be any worse than not trying."

They two walked into the room where the Blade sat on the table.

Adeline reached for it as Athena sat with her arms crossed." What do you hope to achieve from this?"

Adeline was about to answer when she squealed." Ouch damnit!"
Athena walked over to her to see she cut her finger on the Blade.

"Idiot."

She took the Blade and the blood that was on the Blade began to travel down the top and across the face of the Blade.

The white gem that was embedded into the handle glow a bright flash.

"Athena?" Adeline called.

Athena eyed the Blade in both fear and complete awe.
"The key activating this was your blood." A smile formed on her face,"It makes perfect sense your family created this tool so...

"My blood is what makes it work."

Athena smiled and wrapped her arms around her." Adeline. We can end this."

"Once and for all." Adeline smiled back.

The sun had begun to set and everyone knew the plan and where they were supposed to be.

Adeline stood in front of the full-length mirror in her room.

Her dress was a pastel pink, it was silky smooth and fit her figure like a glove.

Her dirty blonde had been curled tightly, she had a small amount of makeup on. Her eye lids a blush pink on them and her lips were nude. She had a small amount of glitter on her cheek bones.

She brushed her dress down sighing before she looked up. And saw Dante behind her.

She turned around and smiled. He placed a hand on her cheek."You look amazing."

"You look quite dashing yourself."

He wore a long white shirt with with a dark blue collar with gold trimming,three gold buttons on the both sides of the shirt,gold epaulettes set neatly on his shoulders,white gloves on his hands. Dark navy dress pants and a pair of black riding boots.
